What he got paid doesn't mean he's worth it.  Another team was not going to pay him what he wanted AND give up a 1st to do it. That was never going to happen.  I hope the Giants get their money's worth out of him. We certainly didn't get ours.

Wondering if he'll "take plays off" in the Meadowlands?

The point isn't that he's worth that much money, it's that if someone was willing to apy him that much, then we should have been getting more in return for him

We got fleeced, period, no way around it, 3rd time in 2 years.

That logic goes both ways. He’s also only worth a 2nd and a 5th since that’s all somebody was willing to give for him by that same logic.

Damn what did miss going to dinner and for some drinks?!?!?!  People looked at me crazy when I yelled when the trade was announce on ESPN.

A) I'm glad Burns, as a contract distraction, and his cap burden are gone.

B) I'm pissed at the compensation.

I went from elated to pissed and now I'm numb to the whole thing.  I guess two first rounders is the MAXIMUM compensation for a franchise tag, not the law of the tag.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
