At this point I don't doubt it. However, I don't think this is how a team should be re-built. The process works if you can maintain a mix of veterans with talent and draft well. Moving on from every player that has an ounce of talent for draft picks and overpaid free agents isn't going to do anything but put the team in a further hole. Except this time the new front office will has nothing but sunk-cost to work with. A dangerous thing that we've seen happen with other teams.

These are ‘25 cap moves.  This year will be ugly but it will put us in a good position, via the draft and free agency, in 2025.

assumes we continue to do this next year. i'm not convinced we do.

Well, I mean, how do we win more games next season? Sure, maybe if somehow they draft amazingly and the offense somehow suddenly produces 28 or more points a game it would be possible. However, I don't think it's going to happen. The same scouts are in the building with the same basic team building management.

Next off-season I think the hot topic will be trading Brown or more probably talk about a record setting contract was given to him because the Panthers don't have anyone else on the roster that's a priority.

I mean, why not? The defense was good last year. Let's make sure that changes.

We weren’t really that good. We were 29th in scoring and we barely ever had a lead so teams didn’t need to go garbage time against us. Good news is that we can only drop 3 spots in scoring defense.

Yeah... I'm not losing sleep over this one. He finally showed some promise last year but that's too much for the definition of a JAG.

I think some of the reaction is misplaced acrimony for the Burns trade. If we had signed YGM for 9 a year some folks on here would be out on mint street with pitch forks.

Tim Donnelly told us this might happen. We're shifting resources to the offense and are going to try to win some shootouts. We'll invest in defense heavily in 2025.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
