I get that he sucked last year, but the optimist in me ask how any QB would be successful last year, much less as a rookie. Things like this don’t just disappear. He has many many examples just a year prior that proves he can make throws anywhere on the field. His college tape is phenomenal.

Lots of guys are HoF college QBs and completely suck in the NFL.

His NFL tape from last season is some of the worst ever.

I can’t argue much about how bad he looked. However, he also showed some signs that he could make tough throws. He did have the worst in the league head coach throughout the year, the worst offensive game plan, the worst receiving threats in the league, one of the worst lines in the league, and I don’t think you could debate that.

How can you completely write him off under those circumstances coming in as a rookie? We will see this season coming up, I’m waiting until after this season to judge him, it’s the hardest position in the league to learn and I don’t think any QB in the league would have been successful last season

C'mon, worst ever?  Did you see Jamarcus Russel's tape?  Ryan Leaf?

Bryce wasn't good, but the entire team was bad.  Was he the root cause?  No.  The FO believes in Bryce, and they are going all in to try to give him a better situation.  If Bryce can't turn it around with Canales, then he is that great college QB who couldn't cut it in the NFL.

Who is the QB that could have led this offense to a winning record?  What QB could survive a complete poo show of an offensive line?  Maybe Prime Cam or Vick because they could run out of danger.

On July 3, 2022, Moore was found to have passed out in a Ford F-250 pickup truck while in a Taco Bell drive-through, in his hometown of Gainesville. Police claimed to have smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. The search found THC edibles and 3 pistols. Moore was booked on July 4 and was released after posting a $5,000 bail for the marijuana possession and weapons charges.

Canales was an OC for 1 year with the 20th ranked O….with largely a veteran offense.

I mean, this is the part I struggle with.  If Bryce can’t do it with Canales then we somehow did all we could do for him?

plenty of QBs could of done better than having to go to a prime Vick last year.  old and horrible Andy Dalton looked better.   So I don’t think you to time machine a MVP in.

    • When I say "average NFL WR", for me, that's comparing him to all WRs in the league during that season/span of time.  He was of course better than those #4-6 WR's that can't even get on the field, but talent/ability wise, he probably wasn't any better than a #3 WR for most NFL teams, he just happened to be on one of the teams in 2019 with even worse WR's so he put up solid stats for the season. Here's more or less how I'm looking at it. Take T-Mac right now and Chark at his best, put them on every NFL team at this very moment, and where would they fall on the depth chart come Week 1 (basically, the teams that don't put the rookies at #1 to "make them earn it in camp" don't count, it's projecting week 1 depth charts). T-Mac would be at worst the #2 WR on the majority of teams this season, (hell, he's likely our #1 at this very moment right now already), peak Chark would not.  Yes, T-Mac still has to prove himself at this level, but his current ability, even as a rookie who hasn't played a snap yet, would have him above Chark on any team's week 1 depth chart. Because again, you can't just fall back on "well Chark had a 1,000 yard season" and use that as the reason for having him above T-Mac.  As he didn't have that 1k yards because he was a beast, it was because he was the only halfway decent receiving option on a bad team that was always losing and passing the ball (the Jags had the 7th worst scoring differential that season).
    • We clearly need to add a veteran stopgap at safety one way or the other.
    • On Panther's Wire too. No idea, just found it and trying to share. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/06/15/nfl-free-agency-rumors-panthers-eagles-justin-simmons/84219881007/
