Vegas has released betting odds for team wins.

They see the Falcons taking the division, 10.5 wins is the betting line.

Bucs at 8.5, Saints at 7.5 and Panthers at 4.5, tied for worst the Patriots.  Hey, we'll probably have a top 3 pick next year.

It's almost certain to be in the top 5 picks.  Those are the safe bets and how it will ultimately play out. This team has a long way to go to be a serious threat to anyone anytime soon.

Baker got a good deal.  I'm happy.  I think.

Here are the details from some of the recently agreed-upon contracts around the NFC:

  • Baker Mayfield, QB (Buccaneers). Three years, $100MM. Of the $50MM in Mayfield guarantees, $40MM is fully guaranteed. The other $10MM will shift from an injury guarantee to a full guarantee on Day 5 of the 2025 league year. Mayfield can also earn $5MM per year via incentives, Fox Sports’ Greg Auman notes. Half of those are stat-based incentives. If Mayfield finishes in the top 10 in the NFL (or top five in the NFC) in passer rating, TD passes, yards, yards per attempt or completion percentage in any of the three years, he would earn $500K per category, Auman adds. The other $2.5MM per year comes through playoff incentives. Mayfield would earn $500K for a Bucs wild-card win, $750K for a divisional-round conquest and $500K for an NFC championship game win. If the Bucs are to win a Super Bowl with Mayfield at the helm, he would collect another $750K.

Falcons Expected To Face More Significant Tampering Punishment Than Eagles

11:39am: The NFL will not conclude its tampering investigation this week, per a league announcement. That will mean any punishment the Falcons or Eagles face would not take effect until the 2025 draft. Should a penalty come down, both NFC teams will have more time to prepare.

Some around the NFL expect the Falcons to face more severe tampering punishment compared to the Eagles, per ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter. Punishment for the Falcons’ alleged tampering with Cousins is expected to involve Atlanta’s draft.

Yea Falcons should (and hopefully will) get slammed hard for this tampering business. But even without that, Kirk Cousins is solid but the team still isn’t good. Their O is super overhyped based on college production. The RB they got last year looks good but he’s no Barkley or CMC. Their young WR and TE are dookie no matter how much people wanna hype them based on their college days. (And by dookie I mean compared to expectations. They’re mid, objectively).

Saints OL Hurst just retired.  Their board now saying they have 3 holes on their once mighty line.  They all agree Penning was a bust as well.

I'm guessing they will be drafting some offensive line help this time around.

former Saints LT Peat signing with the Raidahs.  He was a first round pick and performed well when moved to LT in the middle of last season.  Some saints posters on their board say he saved their season with that move.

Saints still owe him over 13 mill

The left side of their OL is in bad shape.  Very bad shape

Yeah the NFCS should be pure trash, so expect the Bucs to win the south again. If Young doesn't improve leaps and bounds then I wouldn't expect the Panthers to come in anywhere but dead last. Having said that, I am loving the Saints o-line situation. They can suffer with us.

This division is such trash, any team that finishes with less than 8 wins needs a new QB and coach.

I think its frustrating that Bryce technically never had a good game against any team in the division.

NFC south has been the most difficult division to forecast year in and year out. The Drew Brees lead Saints were the most consistent bet but besides him, you can’t say that for any other team.

I know it can be said league wide, but in the  South, when they’re hot, they’re HOT, and beat the piss out of the rest of the NFL. 2002 Bucs, 2003 Panthers, Brees led Saints, Brady led Bucs, 2015 Panthers, 2016 Birds, etc.

Problem being is it being so hit and miss, and almost always driven by momentum, and history.

Panthers do not win in Atlanta.
Panthers love going to Tampa

Birds hate going to swamp town

since 2002, the NFC has been represented 6 times by South teams in the SB, won 3 of them, really should of been all 6 times but that’s another argument.

    • I personally think you are trying to talk yourself into circles here... It's ok to say Bryce played incredible the last 5 weeks... I know there are plenty of people on this board who desperately need the doom-and-gloom narrative, but I genuinely question how much NFL QB play some of these people really have watched when they still question him being the unquestioned starter for next year...  Again, that being said, no one is crowning him at all. I think Bryce is one of the best stories going into 2025 bc his season last year was so outlandishly unprecedented. It's totally fair to personally not believe in Bryce. Plenty of sports "journalists" need to write stories, and that's an easy narrative path... But I think that actual people in the know rank Bryce much higher. That's the fun thing about sports... we shall see!
    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
