Spotrac: Carolina Panthers NFL’s top offseason spenders

This is silly. $200M of that was two deals. Does it matter when two multi-year deals started? Browns deal doesn’t even really start until the 2025 season.

The only deal I think doesn’t help us in the future is Clowney. If it’s not to prove or help out the offense, then it needs to be long term beneficial. Clowney will not see a playoff game with us so improving the D doesn’t help us long term.

Numbers are numbers. They aren't silly or anything else.

Having Tepper as an owner will pay off when he finally lucks into the right coach/gm combo. He’s not afraid to sign cheques

Yeah, similar thought. When they figure it out the money will be among the largest piles and at that point it will be smart too.

2 guards and D Brown is almost 250 of that sum.

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
