I know but, as was said ‘if you have conviction’ 😂    That’s how we have young.

that ‘conviction’ word

as we see all QBs off the board

eye of the beholder….

Scott Fitterer needs to be convicted of fuging over this franchise.

I just hope it really was him. My suspicion is that it was always Tepper.

With no defensive player worth taking at 8 and probably no trade down offer I can respect that they stuck to their guns and took the guy the must believe in. Kirk while being paid very highly will be a 36 year old QB coming off an Achilles tear so there's no guarantee he will hold up. Also, it's not like Kirk is just some elite QB he in my view is a very productive QB who has an elite agent who keeps getting him these mega deals. Kirk is also awful in primetime and hasn't won a playoff game since 2020.

The Vikings traded up 2 picks later, I'm quite sure if they would have called the Vikings, they could have moved back 3 picks to get more assets and then likely still gotten Pennix (think the Vikings always wanted JJ anyways), taken someone else, or traded back again.

Guys, I think the Falcon was a head scratcher. But, they've got Penix for 5 years if they pick up the option. Maybe ATL feels Cousins only has 2-3 top years left and when they move on they'll have a potential franchise guy on the roster to take over with 2 -3 left on his rookie deal.

Let's forget the GB selected Aaron Rodgers when Favre was still playing at a high level and let him sit for 3 seasons.

I'm not ripping them for drafting "a" QB, but for drafting the QB they did. Penix is no Rodgers as a prospect, not even close.

As a huge Gardner Minshew fan I'd love that for him. He might finally get a shot to lock down a starting QB job.

He's one of those good backup/marginal starter types. It could work. He doesn't have a good NFL arm. That's his big knock. But he's a gamer. So go get him some matchup problems.

    • I'll be honest.  I'm not sure I want to see any those guys returning right now given what others are presently doing.... minus Coker.  Hubbard returning likely messes the run game up (I mean, it's going to come down regardless but he still), Tremble and Evans actually are doing well, Corbett seems to make us worse up front, and the D has made some strides.  I'd like to just keep that whole lot on the shelf this week.
    • I don't think people know that Icky is still only 25 years old. Panthers signed UDFAs older this year and drafted DJ Johnson. Heres a fact, a deep fact.... Its easier(much) to find a good-great QB than good-great LT. Another fact there's only 12-15 true LTs and the others are larping as LT.  SO....(I'm not a fan btw)......you nearly must resign him at all cost even with him being around the 12th best at times. Its the hardest spot to fill and he's still awful young with 4 years as a pro. Carolina already got 4 years of "cheap" service as well, that's invested time and effort.  The fan-side of me hopes he signs some top 5 at best top 3 big money deal. Just the cap keeps growing and LTs, young LT with experience are rrrrrrare and unique. Tag him if needed and tag him again, then trade him. I think he enjoys being/living in NC.  I hope he's stays on a team friendly deal, but those are soooo rare these days.  Only two options- pay him whatever, even if it's top $$$$$(uggggghhhh..) or tag him for 2027 and keep trying to pay. Worst outcome is trading him for couple 1s, 3s, and 5th maybe a player too.
    • I always loved DJ Moore.  I don't see him wanting to comeback here.  He seems to be tired of inconsistent QB play and you finally see that bubbling over in Chicago.  or maybe he just doesn't like the people.  He actually seemed fine with Fields.....and lobbied for them not to draft Caleb.  So maybe it's just a Caleb issue (and I think Caleb might have tons of baggage/issues that rub folks wrong)
