Fighting food insecurity in our backyard: The David and Nicole Tepper Foundation makes major gift to support Charlotte Nonprofit 'Nourish Up'

Being food insecure means you have trouble securing food. It's mainly in reference to poorer families and children in homes where they don't have access to food consistently.

We all need to be doing more, especially those who have a lot more.

Ditto, as well as GOOD mental health resources. The 2 go hand in hand.

Can’t buy food if you’re broke. Crippling depression and schizophrenia.. a cause and effect of the former…

but MH  facilities are closing up on the regular and 60 year old “obsolete” primary schools are being torn down for a 30 million dollar school to take its place.  Funny how college campuses will have 200 year old buildings and they’re just fine.

Where is the after hours tutoring in poor neighborhoods to boost graduation rates and hopefully lead to good careers? It’s all lip service.

Want to impress? Build a $30 million MH facility that offers inpatient services, well staffed with GOOD PHYSICIANS, and offer outpatient counseling and medication management. Have it tied in with a career training and GED program.

People should donate heavily to food banks directly. I don’t trust foundations. Especially those that are Te**** approved. yeah.

Until root causes for hunger are addressed, we’ll keep letting the car leak oil while we wipe up the stains on the driveway.

MH is a large portion of my career, and I see what it does to people and families.

the constant "process blue" washing of the Tepper foundation's every dollar donated is corny as hell. I liked it better when you heard tell of nice things the owners did from a 3rd party. with some credibility and positive word of mouth. not tooting your own horn every time you give a little scratch.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
