The Carolina Panthers are hurtling towards threats of relocation

Charlotte City Council will hear statements from the public on Monday about whether or not taxpayers believe $650M in revenue should be given to Tepper Sport Entertainment (TSE) to renovate Bank of America Stadium as part of a $1.3B proposal to upgrade the home of the Panthers.

Fans anticipated that any redesign for the stadium would include either a full or partial dome, which would allow for the city to host a Super Bowl, as well as other clear-cut amenities for fans. Instead the first stage of the revamp (and the only guaranteed changes) are largely superfluous, outside of restrooms.

Essentially we’re seeing some basic infrastructure being pitched as a tourism improvement, with the veiled threat being that if these aren’t delivered then there’s no guarantee the Panthers will stay in Charlotte.

Anyone who thinks we can host a Super Bowl are sadly mistaken. I have no idea if this is a good deal for the city but I can ensure you there is nothing short of $3-4B that could get us a Super Bowl. And that is not on the table and nor should it be

Where are they going to go? If he moves the team so be it it. It's his tram now so he can do whatever he wants to do with it.

It was a good thing until he bought it and ran it into the basement of the nfl. Good luck getting other owners to help you out with their support David.

I mean where would they even move? St Louis? Portland? Virginia maybe if he tried to represent the entire state (p. risky imo)? The fanbase hates him and he's failed miserably twice over in negotiations now. He has no leverage. They can call any of his bluffs with "Go right ahead and slash your profits then". I couldn't care less about what happens to Charlotte but the city has no reason to let itself get robbed for the sake of whatever 3-win turd the team'll be this year. Would be nice if they sent a message.

Virginia is Redskins... uh lol Commanders territory.

I would bet Europe probably. Munich Panthers. London Panthers. Wherever Tepper wants to live they could make it happen considering the hard on the NFL has for going global. Hell he could go to Mexico City, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Zurich...

Can you even imagine the absolute trashfire that would ensue not just from an NFL team being in Europe with all of the travel and whatnot, but also it having David Tepper as the owner??? Holy poo that'd be one for the ages.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
