Preseason game 2 - who impressed who needs to get their ass cut

I sense this season like the past couple is gonna be focused on getting better and establishing an identity. Saying that:

looked good - Dillion Johnson, Trevon Wallace, Jordan Matthews, JT sanders, Coker (potential there)

need to be cut: all the backup DL, Plummer, ISM.

Dillon Johnson showed a combination of speed, power and explosiveness we haven't seen at the RB spot since Stew.

Never went down on first contact, decisive in his cuts and turned several 2 yard losses into 3-5 yard games.

More importantly, he wanted to be out there. Looked like he actually gave a poo and wasn't just going through the motions during garbage time of the 4th quarter.

I would not think twice at putting him on the 53 especially if Brooks starts the season on IR.

I did not watch last night's game but from the sound of it I am frightened we will have another season where it's not even watchable play in person or on TV and that sure is disappointing. Still though I'm going to hope (yet be a realist) that when the starters come out, it will look like a complete different team. I think we are in for another rough season but not judging any players or coaches just yet till I see the regular season.

I can’t remember a game as boring and uninteresting as the one tonight. Oh yeah, last week’s game.

I’m honestly worried about how detached I am from this franchise, what the fug.  On a bigger scale, it’s impacting my excitement for NFL football overall. First time I’ve been like this going back to day one, 1995.

I want to tell you, I’m looking for what you said that deserves someone shitting your post.

I think maybe you committed a Bryce Young thought crime.

It's so funny how most of the people claiming they didn't watch it or only watched a small part are commenting the most about how they feel about the game.   I thought it was fairly positive.  Much better than the first game.  No big offensive explosion but what do you expect with Plummer who looked bad in college and some oline players who signed to the team in the past couple days.

    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
    • The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse
