So who is our QB next year?

Dalton is a better version of Derek Anderson when he backed up Cam. The clock is ticking before he isnt too good. Father time is undefeated. Kick the tires on Winston (FA) or Howell (trade). Need a better development guy than plummer. or longer bridge.

If I was Darnold I might tell the panthers to kindly look elsewhere after the way 2022 and 2021 went here. now he might if its the only bag someone throws at him, but id say he gets more than our offer.

Andy again, if he keeps this up--there will be a QB drafted at some point--in 2025.  I am starting to like the 2025 QB draft--I see 5 who might go first round and a few more that are long shots.  I think (for now) Sanders and Ward are likely to be the top 2, followed by Ewers and Beck--Of those, I would take Ward.  The next group, however, could be in play if we go with Dalton for one more season--too early to say now, but HYPOTHETICALLY:

Jaxon Dart is my favorite developmental QB, Dart has played Wake, Ga Southern, Middle Tennessee St. and Furman. take a look at the completion percentages:  image.thumb.png.1c752851f4fc36560f80c1894d8731e5.png

Great stats, but watch some tape.  System QB with an average arm.  If he's there in the 3rd, sure take a stab.  No higher though.

Resign Dalton, and draft Cam Ward.  🙂

I don't actually know, but I hope and pray that if we draft someone, we work him in slowly.  And I hope he the size of a regular NFL qb.

I think, if he keeps it up, Ward is your #1 draft pick in 2025.  The others are fluid right now--

If a blue chip defensive player is available...I think you go that route. If not, I'm not opposed to drafting a QB who can sit and learn. I actually like it a lot unless you want to draft another receiver but i dont want to do that early. We aren't gonna be bad enough to get golden boy manning in 26. Sorry people.

This is where I’m at. We really need pass rush help. Hopefully Dalton can make it through this season, and next.

    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
