Zavala worries me. He was beyond horrible in the past, but I'm hoping he's improved. If you're going to keep an eye on anyone it's Zavala.

He was highly valued coming out of college. Stop judging him by his rookie season in which the entire offense except for Adam T, failed miserably.

we really need Wonnum back, for at minimum obvious passing downs. Another edge that can get to the QB would be really big for this defense

Wonnum is a major addition especially with our defense hungry to show we’re much better than we’ve shown but we’ve been put in ridiculous situations the first two games. But I’m just as excited to see Barno he has a very high potential to be a pass rush specialist. I’m even thinking he could have a Brian Burns type of impact, he’s very fast very bendable around the edge. If he can put it all together like a lot of DEs do in their third year with what’s in front of him two strong by vets he should be able to flourish. We still have impact guys on the shelf we just might have to win and compete this year.

He looked good in the preseason and wasn't a disaster on Sunday. I think he can develop into our IOL version of BC(who was pretty shaky early in his career too).

If Zavala progresses, we will finally have something we haven't had for YEARS. Some actual quality OL depth behind a quality OL.

This is why I have always been a favor of continuing to draft OL every single draft. That's how you build and develop a stalwart OL that can buoy your entire offense for years to come.

    • Although, I will admit there is a big caveat to this game. Packers coming off an emotionally big game against Rodgers on the road in Primetime and a MNF matchup with the Eagles the following week, it is a prime opportunity for a let down game with them looking ahead. Which if it's the case, I think we still lose, but only something like 24-21.
    • We lose in a non competitive game 38-20. Bryce doesn't look much better than Dalton did and all the people this week saying "see we told you he's great, look how bad this team is without Bryce" blame it on the OL injuries and/or his ankle and already start laying the groundwork for that being why he is still one of the worst starting QB's the rest of the season and why he deserves another year, if not even an outright extension. And no, that's not what I'm rooting for, just what I objectively think will happen, just as I've been saying for a month would happen once we got past the cupcake portion of the schedule.
    • Miami will be their first real test. Even a close loss and I would be content with that at this point. Brandon Miller is probably gonna be out a few weeks with a partial shoulder dislocation. With that being said, the rookies are really impressing me.
