Ten games in, you should have an understanding of what guys are capable of.

I think Bryce is garbage and won’t work out. BUT the staff has to give him a shot late (barring a playoff push…lol) to determine if they need to move on.

If they haven’t figured out what Young is by now they never will and don’t belong in the NFL.

49ers cut bait with Trey Lance after 8 games. just sayin...

Difference is SF has #1-3 ranked TE, LT, RB, MLB, Edge.

And the Purdy saved them.

They have the most talented roster in the league and have so for a couple years.

Our offense has been much more explosive with Dalton in there?  In literally every facet.   Every single player on the offense has improved statistically with Dalton at qb.

The offense moves better but hardly explosive. Long pass play of 39 yards? Is the bar that low now? The 2nd longest pass was 35 and that was Bryce against NO. Give Bryce a few drives or a half here and there at the least.
If I’m Bryce and Canales, if the defense if playing cover 0 or 1 I don’t want to see any pass less than 30 air yards or you’re benched immmediately. That’s his marching orders and if he fails, cut his ass

Or you listen to them like you listen to a heel wrestler cutting a promo.  They're just trying to get people worked up to generate some heat.  It's all about entertainment.

It's all entertainment. If you want to get views and clicks say something controversial and you are set. Doesn't matter what it is.

Dammit.

Y'all are nuts talking about being in favor of playing Young. Out.Of.Your.Minds.

It is total disrespect to us. And his teammates.

You can't remember defenses all crowded because he can't or won't throw deeper than ten yards:? Okay, 12.

Cannot have a running game at all like that. You can't have an offense.
Go back and look at his numbers or rewatch the first two games, if you have the stomach for it. Watch the looks on his teammates' faces when they interviewed them after he was benched. They can barely conceal their relief. Joy, even.

I wish I were lying.

Got it

I couldn't help but laugh when people talked Bryce in the Bears game. He threw ok in garbage time until the got in the red zone. But then he failed.

I was recommended a video on YouTube containing all of Bryce’s throws against the Bears and he looked exactly the same as he did before the benching. He was just playing against backups.

He ran to the right, and threw a nice pass downfield.  He also threw a decent pass across the middle after stepping up in the pocket.   A couple of short completions and a decent scramble.

He still can't throw from the pocket other than some short passes to the backs and side outs to the receiver.

I said this in the preseason, people were so pumped to see him "thrive" in the one drive he played. I saw the same old crap, noodle armed throws and cheap completions against vanilla defense.

The guy is so physically limited that Defenses know how to make him do what they want. That leads to no running game and just bad offense.

He is not what we were sold and until the organization accepts that, nothing good will happen.

Against backups. That first throw looked just as slow and lazy as his passes have always looked.

He shines in practice and garbage time. Keep playing him and watch the D tighten up and eat his lunch, even the backups. I also don't remember them blitzing either which he can't handle.

    • Chuba had some burst against the falcons and Rico is banged up. I think Chuba gets more run and gets in the end zone. Cmc also absolutely kills us through the air but is limited rushing. XL catches one long pass and drops 2 others. Ultimately I want us to look like we belong on the field and see if we can steal one late
    • The only thing that would truly surprise me would be a Panthers blowout win. I think the likelihood of that happening is almost 0. So I think it goes one of three ways, and I think the Panthers can only win one of the three ways.  Option 1: The 49ers win by 2+ scores in a game that is close at halftime but the 49ers run away with it in the second half. The Panthers running game produces early and help the Panthers take an early lead, but the 49ers focus on stopping Dowdle in the second half, while Bryce falters and is largely a non factor reverting back to the ineffective QB we’ve seen for most of his career. On defense, the Panthers poor tacking being the difference in the game. 49ers 38 Panthers 20 Option 2: Panthers win a gutty, low scoring, hard fought defensive game like the 2013 win in San Francisco which was a fantastic game if you enjoy defensive battles. Panthers defense rises to the occasion and shuts down Purdy and CMC and the game is a battle of field goals. Time of possession heavily favors the Panthers with both Hubbard and Dowdle getting 10+ touches. Bryce is clutch in the 4th quarter leading the team to another last second win. Panthers 19 49ers 16 Option 3 (and I think this is what Vegas is leaning towards): The 49ers win a back and forth high scoring game with the 49ers pulling out a last minute victory. There are good and bad moments for both teams, the defenses both force turnovers and the game is back and forth until the end. 49ers 27 Panthers 25 If this was a Sunday 4 o’clock game I would say Option 3 is most likely. Given the Panthers atrocious performances in prime time games in….really the entire history of the franchise, I think it’ll be Option 1. But I really hope they can keep the game low scoring and get a gutty win which would go a long way towards making the playoffs.
