With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!

OK, for all those saying to trade down and not draft a QB? Who is our QB next year? Just waste away another season, right? Nah.

And for those saying take a DE. Who? There isn't even a DE in the top 10 worth taking.

Look, I seriously doubt that we'd trade down from the first pick anyway, but if we do we are in for another season of dread with a sub par retread.  And DE? Ha! if we trade down, DE isn't in the stars.

Drafting a qb in the top 5 and then immediately starting him sounds pretty moronic

If QB truly is the best player available, then yes QB. If not, then go with the best player in the draft. The Panthers have to hit 100% on the first 3 rounds. 100% can't miss players that produced and have the tools to succeed at the next level. No more high risk, high reward picks. They rarely work out here.

The way we are playing Defense who even knows if Evero is retained or if we swap back to a 3-4. Williams, Pearce, and Carter are the only edges people talk about being in the top 10 but none are being mentioned #1 and there is a reason for that. If you want to trade down and take one at 4-6 go for it, but not at 1.

i'm on the BPA train this coming year. Don't really care who it is or what position they play. Most years i don't feel like this...but this year, yeah, absolutely. best player.

and we'd actually be better off listening to the consensus mocks...which isn't bad right now.

just do BPA all through the draft. just get talent. more and more talent.

Honestly this franchise isn’t in a position to develop a QB properly. Signing a vet and getting the roster up to snuff is the best way to go about it imo. Relying on a rookie QB to come in and single handedly turn the franchise around isn’t practical plus there’s no burrows or daniels in this draft anyway

    • The ONLY thing Chark was better at during his peak than T-Mac is right now, is that he was an actual burner. T-Mac has better hands, more fluid and agile, better catch radius, better route runner. It's not about stats but short of literally having the video at my disposal (and know how) to cut clips together to compare them, it's just the quickest/easiest way to do it because they's so absurdly polar opposites in output. And again, this has absolutely nothing to do with T-Mac, it's 100% about just being realistic with who Chark was as a player.  I genuinely don't understand why people seem to think Chark was some all world player at any point in his career, he was never anything more than a league average player who had one decent statistical season as the only decent WR option on the team that year. I'd have said the exact same thing last year about MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, and BTJ vs Chark too.
    • Just stop, man. All the college stats don't matter. Plenty of guys who put up big numbers in college flop in the NFL and you and I both know that there are 1st round and top 10 busts every year. While we definitely hope T-Mac isn't one and we hope he proves to be a great NFL WR, you can't assume poo about a rookie who hasn't played a down of NFL football yet.
    • therein lies the problem.  Carry on
