Do you resign Dalton for one more season?

Depends on the rest of the year. The last two games he looked almost as bad as Bryce. I was originally all for giving him another year to let our next QB that we draft sit for a while, but if the last two games were the real current Dalton then I’d have to pass. If he can bounce back to how he played the games prior then sure, give him another year.

But we were assured that he was irretrievably broken and that no team could win with him…

There is a Belichick clip out there from earlier this year saying that everywhere Darnold had been except the NYJ, liked him. Said he talked to people in Carolina and SF and they liked him. Obviously Minnesota does.

You aren't going to win them all or be great every game against every team.

Somehow we had to go from that and PJ and Baker to... Bryce. Oof.

I would be interested in Jameis, I think he would do pretty good in Canales offense.

I REALLY wanted Jameis over Bridgewater. It would have saved a ton of money and Jameis would have been 100000x more entertaining to watch than Bridgewater. Instead of checking it down, Jameis would be trying to force throws at inappropriate times.

    • This And with possibly needing to replace Bryce next year and a deep QB class, I do not hate the idea of moving far enough back to pick up another 1st rounder next year out of the deal. I wouldn't have said that a week ago, but I also never expected us to land 3 big FA's at our 3 biggest positions of need like we have, it totally changes things.
    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
