Bryce Young - Good and Bad, what say you?

Baker is a good comparison for why it does not make sense to give up on Bryce.  The NFL is hard.    And people develop at different paces.

I completely understand why that’s frustrating considering the trade but it’s all sunk cost now.    Just hope he turns into the best form he can. 

We aren't far apart here at all on our positions regarding the matter. Anyways most of us here want the same thing for our beloved franchise.

I will say though in regards to Baker he always passed the eye test in terms of his physical tools. That's what separates him from Bryce Young and what the biggest question mark is in regards to his future. He's got to prove he can consistently make those big time throws at all levels.

I agree he needs to be more than a game manager. My point was that he's improving. He may take longer to get to what they wanted when they drafted him. If he's trending to be a franchise QB then you allow him time to become that. Does that mean he's meeting expectations as a #1 pick? No. But that doesn't matter anymore. Some guys take longer. Most guys take longer.

We scored 27 points against one of the best defenses in the NFL, and a few people are still whining about the offense. Nitpicking at its finest.

I don't give a crap about whether we run or pass the ball to get td's.  Last time I checked, both methods give you 6 points.  In truth, I thought we should have run the ball a little more earlier in the game in the red zone, but in the end, 27 points against a good defense is not bad.  In fact, that is the second most points against KC this season, only Buffalo scored more.  And they all came off of long drives, no short drives after a turnover.  

Still need to do a lot of work on the defensive side, but the positive is they sacked Mahomes five times and and held them to 10 points in the second half.  Couldn't stop them with the game on the line, but then again, most teams don't stop Mahomes with the game on the line.

I agree some just take time and having to experience ups and downs and be humbled. My issue is it's only a matter of more time possibly if he has always displayed the necessary physical tools. But he hasn't because those don't exist. So more time is not going to suddenly morph him into something he is not. This is not a Sam Darnold situation. I cannot lie to myself and try to argue otherwise. No disrespect. That's just me keeping it real.

He looked better and almost hit the second 300 yard game of his career.  Even if he plays like this rest of the year the panthers need to bring in competition.  Early qb pic or decent veteran.

I mean you gotta consider Bryce had like 3 TDs dropped today and a big XL completion that was dropped. This was definitely his best game.

They just gotta improve in the redzone.

And it was coming off of a bye week. Perhaps he should vacation a bit in Germany in the off season, something certainly seemed to help him there. 

No, really... He showed maturation and the possibility that he's turning a corner. That wasn't the NY Giants out there, but the back to back Super Bowl champions with the #3 defense in the league, with them coming off of a prime time loss. And that was a 9-1 team we just played literally down to the last second.

Bryce played so well that maybe, maybe he wins over some nay-sayers. It's still early, though, but what a nice breath of fresh air that was. You can win quite a few games if that is your normal performance. It is obvious that we are still on the learning curve, though. But that was one helluva test he just took.

Some of these QBs coming out of college just don't have a lot of games under their belts, especially in top end programs. They are perhaps just a year to two years behind center in games that matter before they move up. It can take them some time to hit their stride.

We can still be cautious about our future and still celebrate a great game by the kid, though, and we should. He earned the laurels today, or had before they were snatched away at the last second.

Yes but you have to consider that all these guys are on a time limit technically. Contracts run out, they aren't forever. And you want to see enough sooner than later. Later is how you get in a Daniel Jones situation. Bryce has took steps from the disaster he was earlier this year. Next is consistency, incressing his production (1 td again today) then actually winning these games in bulk. The good qbs do more than make a couple good throws a game then pat themselves on the back. He still has a ways to go but not a endless amount of time to do it in.
