Bryce Young what a crazy statement

Dave Canales asked about Bryce Young staying in the job long-term, says he'll stay in the lineup as long as he continues to "earn those moments." Which he has. "He's giving us a chance to win."

Not surprising. Coaches realize it was Just one game in a clump of bad ones. Bryce needs to prove the KC game was no fluke. Will be really disappointed if we get another 125 yard game from Bryce this Sunday.

you want a measuring stick of where Bryce Young really is today......it will come in 2 weeks at Philly.  Hostile tough place to play, who knows weather, vs a legit good defense.  He doesn't need to be Tom Brady....but he needs to not completely suck.

Or...he saw his career in jeopardy and decided to put the Netflix away and put in the extra work. Some players just need a kick like that. I think the report of him being surprised he was benched said a lot. He was to comfortable. Regardless, he deserves some credit for how he has handled things. I will give him that...It really wasn't looking good after those first 2 weeks. Richardson and levis also bounced back from benchings So its some resilience there. Still long term outlook is a question.

I really can't buy his bad play was a product of him being lazy and he just suddenly changed over a few weeks...that to me suggest is was mental

Last game was impressive. The previous two were decent. If he can continue the upward trajectory he deserves to stick around and see if he can continue next year. It’s entirely possible that what we saw Sunday was the turning point of his career. Or it’s possible it was just a spike and he regresses to the mean.

But I’ll say this, to me he’s earned at least a couple weeks of me not being 100% doubtful and assuming that he’ll regress. I’m not convinced that he’ll turn into a solid starter or better, but I’m willing to put aside what he showed me his first 18 games for now and focus on the present.

I hope he plays well, but imo no single game will give us an answer.  Just have to look at his whole season at the end of the year.

So you didn't see nothing mental about how awful he was the first 2 weeks? He was literally sobbing on the field.

Is cooper rush better than bryce young he just won against cammandos and put up huge stats on texans both defenses right at same level as chiefs.

Cooper Rush is a veteran backup, isn't he?  He's not comparable to BY...

And anyway, Washington has a pretty meh defense this year. Still a good game.

HOU, well, that was on 55 attempts, lol.

Couple of decent games from him. We'll get to see him soon lol

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
