Sorry, but Cam’s shoulder was already hurt. He’d had surgery pre 2017 for his injury in 2016.

That injury was completely avoided if the ref blows the play dead when it was obvious that KB touched the CB. The ref was 5 feet away and if a Tom Brady type QB was potentially going to get hit on a dangerous interception return, whistle blows. Cam was not protected in any 2016 game.

He was still able to play like Cam needed to play before that cheap shot by Watt. Can't tell me that didn't reinjure him. He was clearly not the same guy after that game.

Even after that, it could have been salvaged..

Tepper should have wiped the slate clean once buying, instead of delaying the inevitable.  The whole "don't step on the org's toes year 1" approach killed us.  The 2019 season should have never happened the way it did.

Cam's shoulder was gone at that point, but we didn't know until he bowed out for the season after the first few.  Kuechly was likely going to retire no matter what.  But you end Rivera at the close of 2018, we would have been positioned for Burrow/Herbert/Tua accordingly.  Simple as that.

Yup. Rivera and Hurney both should have been gone after 2018. It was all downhill from there

It’s been catchup/reactive mode ever since. We’ve been patient when we shouldn’t have been, and impatient when we should’ve kept our chill. Just no real feel for savvy decision making.

First major hire should have been the guy to really be the architect of the team with a vision and plan in mind. Whether it was a Roseman, Gutekunst or DeCosta type. He should have at the least sought that person during 2018 as he got used to ownership.

Tepper eventually thought he found his combo guy in Rhule and then Hurney could be his shoe-kissing lackey.

So poor choices and timing with HC/GM moves, playing merri-go-round with QBs, waiting too long to grab an LT, the list goes on.

I will say, this year, it felt a little bit different so I’ll give Tepper an inch of credit— but they’ve got a lot more to keep building. Even if it feels a bit dummied down with the “dawg” thing, it’s at least something — Morgan/Canales seem in sync.

    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
