Who here was NOT HAPPY we won yesterday....

I don't think we would take qb unless we were at the top of the draft. I think the trade up still stings a bit, so even being near the top would eliminate that possibility. The win is pointless, meaningless, feel good nothingness, but it is not as if we have any control over those things, or who this cursed franchise takes in the draft, and how much of a disappointment that player will eventually become.

The draft threads are going to be great debate as we only have 3 wrs on contract but our defense is fuging putrid.  Not sure what side we should be targeting honestly.  I can see the logic of either.

I think if we had ended up 4 we would almost have to have taken Graham because he was best value.   I think going in the back half of the top 10 opens things up to wr or a lot more value at edge in those spots.   I'm not one of those people who argue that it's better to pick later than early, but it doesn't open more options as far as players that have value at that pick.

Can't change a culture where you encourage guys to not want to win all the time.

Yep, it's like Terry Rozier said when he left the hornets.  They've got guys who are OK with losing.  Never going to be great once that attitude takes over a team.

It’s all about the draft pick and what the team needed at the time. The Chiefs didn’t know Mahomes was gonna be the player that he became or they would have taken him in the first round. Mahomes was drafted to be a backup.

draft position doesn’t matter if your front office knows how to draft and develop players.

You have to learn as a team how to win, it doesn’t automagically happen when you restart next year. It’s not Madden

i still think we lose to the Bucs and Falcons because they’re desperate to win the division which means we’ll be back at #5 probably

Don't care if they won or lost. I'm so frustrated with Tepper and the FO, I have zero faith they would find their way out of a wet paper bag.

This season was over the minute that no one thought there needed to be actual QB competition in camp. Bryce wasn't ready to start last year. He wasn't ready to start this year. We've wasted 2 seasons to figure out the obvious.

Bryce is playing better and he may be a franchise QB and he may not. But once again we drafted guys early for potential instead of actually being able to do the job from day 1.

Dan looks like Fitts 2.0 to me and I'm not at all convinced Tepper has stepped back and stopped interfering. I'm disgruntled, but 3 decades of poo GMs will do that.

Mark me down as someone who saw yesterday's win as pointless

I prefer the competitive losses then the pointless wins. We are now outside the top 5 and while we are more than one player away from turning this team around sometimes that one player CAN turn the team around

2020

#6 Herbert

#7 Brown

2021

#7 Sewell

#8 Horn

Horn > Sewell

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
