Have to decide on a 4-3 or 3-4 line

4-3 all the way, draft Graham and 1-2 DEs (seem like a few decent ones can be had in rounds 2-3 this year). Both Wonnum and Clowney can play as DEs. Sign a MLB in FA. And finally let Horn follow the best WR the whole game. It would be an immediate massive improvement.

I think you have to compare the pass rushers to the weight of the O-line, average O-linemen is 300+ lbs. An OLB at 270 is going to have a hard time not being mauled by someone 30+ lbs heavier than you, that's just physics. Peppers being a freak of nature is my point, these type of players don't come around often. Abdul Carter is 251 lbs, he's got speed but will he hold up against the run?  Burns had all the athleticism in the world but we all knew he couldn't hold up against the run.

I'm ready to go back to a base 4-3. A big, 4-man front just seems like the quintessential Panthers defense. But we need a stud MLB again.

I prefer a defensive coach that can coach any group, any scheme.

No idea the "best" scheme to use... but, after seeing this failed 3-4 frankenstein, I'm ready to go back to the 4-3. Graham + Brown would be a force.

4-3 would be the best path but either way we need loads of new talent in here.

I amna 4-3 guy. Unfortunately,  it's harder to find 2 men that can play traditional defensive ends in the NFL. 

College does even attempt to build guys like this anymore.

So therefore it's easier to find tweeners.

Right now....no. A defense heavy draft with quality picks and smart FA moves will be big for this team. No projects or lame guys coming off injuries would help. The 2025 and 2026 drafts (if worked right), they could be back in shape.

reason 3-4 hasnt work for us so far is cause we have had dumbasses run it. When you have a DC that can run it, its the best. Thats what we need. Also proper LBs that fit the scheme instead of forcing smaller 4-3 LBs in that role.
