We could do so much worse. If he's the guy get Deone in round 2 and the front 7 is improved. Notice I didn't say fixed.

If we do not trade back this is my favorite scenario - best for me would be to trade back, still get those 2, and add Xavier Watts.  Then I am extremely happy no matter how else the draft goes.

Georgia LB Jalon Walker Combine measurements

As an edge: HT: 6010 (2nd percentile) WT: 243 lbs. (6th percentile) Arm: 32” (5th percentile) Hand: 10 1/4" (79th percentile)

As an off-ball LB HT: 6010 (30th) WT: 243 lbs. (63rd) Arm: 32” (37th) Hand: 10 1/4" (90th)

I wish he tested at the combine, only way he has the chance to play edge is if he is a freak of freak athlete. I hate to be that guy but taking him at 8 would be a total reach, seems like an amazing human being and competitor but we need to draft the best player possible not the gritty Carolina guy.

We are going to get Walker, Carter, Graham, Johnson, Warren, Williams, or TMac. I dont care any of those guys makes us much better.

Makes us better is key here. I don’t know if any of our picks last year definitively made us better. Just get someone that can solve 1 problem and we are making progress.

then pick someone else in round 2 that will do the same. Then, crazy idea, maybe do the same thing a few more times. I know it sounds like rocket science but sometimes people overthink these things.

Is he Luke Kuechly?  If he's not 59, we shouldn't be taking him in the top 10.  Yes, he seems like an A+ human being but the real question is "Will he be a difference maker in our scheme?"  The answer must be yes to justify the pick.

If we have doubts about his position, we shouldn't pick him.  Sounds like pundits and insiders are a little uncertain, and that doesn't bode well.  We had another outstanding player and A+ human being here with somewhat ambiguous position fit and it just didn't work out with this coordinator and scheme.  I don't want to see the second coming of Jeremy Chinn.

If Luke is the comparison, then we are likely doomed.  Players like him come around only once in a while.

We need a infusion of talent on defense and the first round is only one part of it.  If he turns out be to be a Shaq Thompson, but we also add a Charles Johnson or Mike Rucker and a Mike Minter in later rounds, I will be happy.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
