If we are going to burn a 4th or 5th in the draft on a maybe, just trade the same for a proven vet. Samuel's went for a fifth right. Why not go for proven talent? Just saying...

I dont know how much he was impacted by poor QB play, but it always seemed like the Giants were trying to push him out the door/keep him on the bench. Hes probably a WR 3 or 4 at his best, even on this roster. I'd rather draft a WR or take a chance on Elijah Moore.

I think we could definitely afford him if we thought he could help. In looking over his contract with the Giants I loved his contract in 2024. It had 2million n incentives like yards, TDs, making the probowl etc. Really pays if they produce which is how it should be. I wish more contracts were filled with incentives instead of guarenteed money.

The contract still has to account for the incentives whether he meets them or not. I personally would not trade for any player that is offered up for trade. They will be released eventually and will not cost a draft pick along with a large contract.

You mean the cap would include those incentives he is likely to earn based on past performance? Yes. But the incentives wouldn't be paid until after the season and if he didn't reach them don't we get a credit or something?  

As for trades if you are the Panthers folks aren't coming here in droves as free agents unless we overpay. So by trading for them you make sure you get your guy at a price which is known and can be restructured for cap help. The best thing is you can often get a former first or second rounder for much less because the salary is attached.

How is trading for a guy who normally wouldn't come here a benefit? If he doesn't want to be here forcing them to through a trade is not a recipe for success.

Lol, if Slayton is hoping for a 2 or 3 year deal at around 40 million, he might as well go on vacation for a year. Nobody is paying him that contract.

I dont trust that number, he slipped or something because as you say he has a cheat code video game speed when it matters.   And his 3 cone and 10 yard split times were outstanding

Dude is quick as hell and is running away from people.  The play at :34, 3:13, 4:01 sheeettttt
