Now official: Jets are releasing Aaron Rodgers after 4 pm today. The Jets will take on $49M in dead money by releasing Rodgers. He’s being designated as a post-June 1 cut, meaning they’ll carry his $21M cap hit until June 1, when it drops to $14M—saving $7M. But they then will absorb a $35M dead cap hit in 2026.

trading for him never made sense for the jets

      I’m really having a hard time understanding how this actually went down. -Renfrow expected to make roster as 2nd/3rd string. -Panthers cut Renfrow; Keep Brycen Tremayne, and add UDFA receiver (Dalevon Campbell) to active roster.  -Canales/Morgan say it’s totally up to Hunter whether he wants to come back or not, they would love to have him.    -Renfrow not signed to PS -Panthers trade Adam Thielen -Hunter Renfrow signed to active roster with a raise after an injury to Coker nobody heard about and is likely to start.    Our WR room is now: -Xavier Legette (2024 1st round pick) -Tet McMillan (2025 1st round pick) -Hunter Renfrow (1 year out of the league) -David Moore (Canales’ friend? A guy way past his prime) -Jimmy Horn (Likely a Shi Smith reprint, but has potential 2025 6th round pick, weighs 174 lbs) -Brycen Tremayne (2023 UDFA who was on Washington’s PS for 2 years and caught 1 pass for -2 yards and averaged 300 yards per year at Stanford) -Dalevon Campbell (2025 UDFA had a good preseason but had 1463 yards and 3 TDs over 5 college seasons at 3 different schools). What the hell is going on?
