JOE PERSON: the sense around league circles is Panthers will take Jalon Walker @8

I feel like he is the obvious choice, assuming Graham is gone. BPA at a huge position of need. I’ve thought this before all the press conferences.

I don't necessarily agree on the "BPA" element but I would not be upset about drafting him at 8. I also wouldn't be jumping for joy.

I generally believe he will end up being a very poor fit with Evero's defense.

Assuming we draft Walker:

Salisbury/Athens Ga, Charlotte/Raleigh, Alpharetta, Georgia/Columbia, Mullins, South Carolina/Columbia

Our first rounders (except Bryce) have been within a 250 mile radius of Charlotte.  Heck, three of them grew up right off I-85.

Maybe our leased cars for scouts have a low mileage limit.

Nah bro. Filling those seats with local families. Tep is playing 4D chess!

Sorry verge, but I hope you're wrong

Has she told us WHY she thinks this?  She may have, but I dont recall or didnt see it

I would like for her to react to Morgan's comments about drafting productive college players.  Does she she Mykel as "productive?"

At this point Jalon or Mykel it is what it is. No need to agonize over it so much nobody we pick at 8 is going to save the defense overnight anyway. All that matters is if this staff led by Evero can develop them. Very much remains to be seen and proven.

I would be happy with either at this point.  Just praying Morgan doesnt take pennies on the dollar just to trade down on general principle

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
