I kept saying those wanting that quick shifty slot WR weren't wrong, we did need one, but we also needed that true outside #1, and I explicitly kept saying to take T-Mac in the 1st, then use the next few picks on defense while taking that mid-late round pick on the shifty slot WR as they're easier to find there.

T-Mac, XL, Coker, Horn Jr could make for a damn good Top 4 WR room if they pan out, although if they do, we won't be able to keep all 4 of them on a 2nd contract, but those are good problems to have.

Looks like what we've been missing. He said he's working on returns as well so that'll help his chances of earning a spot.

He threw his right hand out indicating the direction of his break. If he keeps doing that he will not fool a DB.

and he is running with his arms going across his body--that costs you speed.  Hands should be front to back, not side to side. 

And yes, keep your limbs within your frame on a pass route--throwing your hand out is a tell and it is wasted motion.  not only does it give away the route, but nobody ever caught a ball with their hands 3 feet apart.

Still, I like him.  Lets see if they take those flaws out of his game.  I get the feeling that he may not have been the primary focus at CU, so we shall see.

While I don't expect him to be a featured WR, I do believe there are going to be some plays designed to have him on the field with TMAC and XL. The possibility of stretching the defense is going to help us whether we are running it or passing. 

I predict he'll make some chunk plays for us.

One or two hits over the top and it will change the way defenses cover, a la Ted Ginn. If that happens early, he'll be on the field often.

I'm not going to get toooverly invested in him. He played for one of the top passing offenses in college. 4th in yards and 2nd in passing tds and had 440 yds and 1 TD. He was their 4th receiver..

If that allows him to cut close to 90 degrees at full speed then it doesn’t matter. No break down no hip drop. DB doesn’t have a chance to react before he’s out

He is giving a tell to the direction of his route. If I can spot it an nfl CB and safety sure as hell can. A safety can jump that every time or break up the pass at minimum. Horn is a rookie that played at Colorado man. Let him prove himself before you crown him a master of his game.

Yeah you can spot it in a video lmao. Im sure a safety is gonna jump a dig based off of an arm swing a quarter second before he’s in and out of his break. It is genuinely a great route and the indicator is so late it does not matter. That’s why there are people raving online about the route lol

I can think of a world where Jimmy Horn has more receiving yards this year than Tmac.  

End of the day, Bryce Young loves the type routes Jimmy Horn in theory would be running.  Which isn't taking the top of the defense but those easy short crossing routes and has the YAC ability to go with it.

I can see a world where he doesnt even make the team.  Its a pretty robust wr room as it is and a 6th rookie isnt moving the needle

It's still a weird room.  I mean, if you took any legit YAC slot and put him on this team....I think he would lead the team in yards if you actually repped him.  It's why an old washed slow AT is our best player.   It's just volume to competent.   It's Young's DNA and strengths factoring in (that's where he is going to do so much of his work)......yet all our investment is on outside big bodies that got work to do in order to be open in this league.   

I think either Horn suprises, or Renfrow surprises or something.  I still think the slot is the easy play for Bryce Young......you just need someone quick and good at that job.  Not sure Renfrow got the quickness anymore.
