The Bryce Trade is Finally Complete. Who Won the Trade? Panthers vs Bears

I don't know man. Carolina hasn't had a great resume with QBs lately either.

And before someone mentions Cam. He should have been so much better than he was here. 2015 should have been the norm. Protect him. That's it. Throw any old bums out there at WR. Just keep guys from teeing off on him within 2 seconds of snapping the ball.

Some Cam stans get pissed about how much we're investing in offensive pieces to put around Bryce and I don't get it. Yeah, we horribly neglected doing that for Cam. But why repeat that same mistake again? Ultimately, if Bryce doesn't work out then hopefully we will have created a great situation for the next guy to step into.

It's frustration by the Cam folks.  We had a generational QB and wasted his talent with inept roster building by management. Now we have a QB whom, at best, will be a game manager and the front office is sparing no expense to allow him the very best version of himself.  I can see their point, but what is in the past is in the past.

No, I get that. Hell, it still frustrates me too. But damn, I'm not gonna hold it against Bryce or future QBs. I don't want to just keep making the same mistake.

Bryce Young is not a game manager. I guess he can be, but he's best off script when the play breaks down. That's not a game manager.

Right. Look at the Texans, Philly, Bills, Ravens, KC, Dolphins, etc.

All of these teams build or at least try to build the team around their QB.

We had a generational talent at QB, that took a ragtag receiving group and aging backfield to the SuperBowl because the FO got lucky with a couple of FA olinemen. They really weren't even that good and got exposed in the Super Bowl. So what do we do the next draft? Use it on a DT in the 1st and CBs with the next 3 picks trying to replace a guy they fumbled the bag on because of ego. I'll never forgive them for that. Never

Fwiw, I feel some sympathy for DJ Moore.  One of the better receivers in the league, and has never ever had a qb that could consistently deliver the ball to him.  If he played for Buffalo, KC, or Green Bay, he might be a pro bowl wr.

I agree but he signed a second contract here and an extension with Chicago.  So while he didn't choose to be drafted by us, this is now the life he chose.

Can't really put that loss wholly on the oline. Did they have problems with the defensive pressure? Sure. But when your OC doesn't change a single thing in the playbook and the defense knows every play before you run it, you're not going to stand much of a chance.

if that game was officiated honestly/good....the Panthers win.    They weren't going to let Cam get that win when they could of added another bonus on the lore/legend of Peyton Manning.

I agree that adjustments should have been made. Even the Patriots knew to chip Von Miller all game in the AFC championship. My point is they really weren't that good. The interior was strong, but the tackles were just good enough to play complimentary football with a strong interior. When put on an island, they were exposed.

Yea it is early to evaluate the trade still but we've at least got some solid data to work with now. Bryce has completed 2 NFL seasons and Caleb Williams has completed 1.

I know he wasn't part of the trade but I also include CJ Stroud and the Texans into this as well, since we could have selected him in 2023.

As it stands right now, I feel like the trade is pretty much dead even. Bears got quite a few players from it but their team success isn't much better or worse than ours. Neither team has made the playoffs in the 2 seasons since the playoffs have started.

Obviously the Texans and Stroud have been far and away the most successful team of all 3 teams, winning two playoff games in those 2 seasons and having winning seasons + winning their division 2x in a row.

But all 3 teams have underwent significant change in the off season. The Bears massively upgraded their oline similar to what we did before the 2024 season, and also got a new HC.

The Texans overhauled their WR core. The Panthers got some very solid additions in the off season as well.

I think the Bears are 2- 0 vs the Panthers since the trade,  but the Texans are 0-1 to the Panthers.

What say you? Who won the trade thus far? Panthers or Bears??

their qb paints his fingernails, the other three guys are trash, and DJ can't catch so we still won.
