Cannot be slow out of the gate, that middle of the schedule is brutal.  If we aren't 4-0 or 3-1 heading into the Miami match up, the road only gets harder from there.

4-0 feels like the prudent direction.

Season is a bust if we are not at least in the conversation of winning the division......Other than Bills, Packers and Bucs I honestly don't see a team that should blatantly beat us.

Our defense on paper is better, maturation of some young guys as well as possibly having a better Offense playing complimentary football instead of just being on the field constantly.

I just want to see a competitive team again, WE NOT ASKING FOR MUCH!

We have got to have our rookies step up--TMac and Ransom in particular.  Princely and Scourton will need to develop quickly, but I do not expect a miracle from either.   We still have Wonnum (averages about 8 sacks per season) and Jones.

Our CBs need to stay healthy.

Expect a run-first, play action pass offense.

The leak was true, just wish we weren’t playing the Jags week 1 because I don’t expect Hunter to be playing a ton of CB early and I was looking forward to the T-Mac vs Hunter re-match.

Week 1 vs Jaguars = Superbowl. I'll fug with it.

8 weeks before we play a playoff team. i like that. and only 4 total playoff teams on the schedule. of course probably a quarter of the playoff teams from last year won't return (like usual) so there will probably be a couple that we play who wind up there. i think we wind up in the playoffs too.

i have it broken down like this...
1-3 vs NFCW
2-2 vs AFCE
5-1 vs NFCS
1-2 vs oddballs (jags, cowboys, packers)

1     @ jags    W
2     @cards    L
3     falcons     W
4     @pats    W
5     dolphins    L
6     cowboys    L
7     @jets    W
8     bills    L
9     @packers    L
10     saints    W
11     @falcons    W
12     @49ers    W
13     rams    L
15     @saints    W
16     bucs    W
17     seahawks    L
18     @bucs    L

9 - 8 with a wildcard spot in the playoffs.

If we go 5-1 in the NFCS, we win the division!

true...maybe. i think the Bucs sweep the falcons and saints, too, and probably wind up with a better overall record. i just have no faith that the falcons or saints are going to do anything but suck this year.

You guys are expecting/hyping too much for this team as usual. All it take is 1 or 2 key injuries and this team could finish with a worse record than last year. But the offseason is where dreams are made and I certainly do not want to burst your bubble before the season even starts.

If Bryce plays like 2nd half Bryce from last year, 8 wins or so I'd think. Which, we could've been a 6 or 7 win team last year if we got that Bryce all year long.

The defense is improved and better by default which I think is worth a win or two. We'll need some luck on our side for anything better (welp), but if this is another 4-6 win season, I'll be depressed.

    • I believe I just read somewhere that the Rams don't do Top 30 Visits. I mean, it makes sense from the standpoint of trying to keep information close to the vest.
    • I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.
    • I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.
