The Evolution of the Panthers WR Room from 2023 to 2025

I'm more impressed with the UDFA that the guys they have drafted in the first the last 2 years. A whole lot of prove it is still needed before any improvement should be talked about seriously.

I am also intrigued by Mohammad. Could be another story. Seems like he has the talent but seems to have had some issues with coaching schemes/changes,  some attitude and work ethic issues? Hopefully his being home can get him focused. Here is what I read ( all second hand to me ) : 

 

1- He has all the skills but was nonexistent under two different coaching staffs. He butted heads and was benched under Jimbo (for wearing sleeves under his uniform after the coaching staff told him not to ). Then under the new staff, he rarely saw the field – he had just 55 yards last season. When he saw the field, he either made the most impressive play of the game or would get an unsportsmanlike penalty. Just a bizarre case because he has the talent.

 

 

2 -Aggie here to provide some insight. As the other poster mentioned, Moose had a weird time at A&M and it didn't help that Jimbo's offense was painful and wide receivers never seemed to excel. His third year was promising but he was also competing with Evan Stewart, Noah Thomas, and Chase Lane who I'm pretty sure were all 5*s. Also Ainais Smith and Devon achane ran majority of the offense. That said, going into his last year with Jimbo, a couple guys like Lane and Achane left, and most Ags thought this would be the year Moose really steps up. Unfortunately as the other poster mentions, he disappeared into misconduct and coaching change.

that's a reflective, hindsight viewpoint......that can be attached to people no longer here.  

I mean, we can all read what Gantt says in real time about this org.  He is their employee.  He has a job to do and it's to make them look good.

While there is an obvious strong emotional attachment to Muhsin Muhammed as he is a Panthers legend and a terrific man. I've grown used to not getting my hopes up about the feel good story kind of signings with the Panthers because I mean have any of them worked out in our favor in a long time? If he somehow follows in his father's footsteps that would be fantastic. I just see the likelihood of that happening being on the level of an improbable miracle. But I would be thrilled to see it.

And.... like that, we don't have to worry about Moose3 for a little bit.  Word is he's been waived (but could be resigned)

Honestly, it would haver been difficult for any WR to look that good with the type of rookie mini camp we held anyways, really it was either look bad or just look normal.

At least from what we saw, there weren't any 1 on 1 drills like other teams did where a WR could have made a nice catch or beat a DB, it was just a bunch of running against air on very basic routes.

You can certainly look bad if your routes/cuts aren't crisp or you drop some passes, but in a setting like that it's really hard for any player to stand out and look great unless the QB is making some terrible throws and they make some wild catches.

With these type of RC MC's, DL can look good if they're firing through the drills and QB's can look good with their passing, most other positions you can really only look bad if anything stands out.  Once they get into OTA's we'll be able to start to see some players standing out more.
