PFF ranks the 2025 starting QBs

Im excited for this season. I’m excited to see what Bryce does. He showed real flashes of being a franchise QB those last 10 games or whatever.

We got a real young team with lots of question marks still. Especially at OLB and I expect our defense to still be a big issue

But hopefully we see some growth/promise from the young guys. If Bryce doesn’t build off of his finish to the 2024 season then no biggie it should be quite the draft class for QB needy teams

Let it go man.   Bryce was literally THE reason we were even competitive in the second half of the season.  He made some big time throws despite the lack of stats he finally passed the eye test and made plays.  Stop hijacking every thread with this crap

Thank you! Bryce proved himself and earned the right to go into this season as the unquestioned starter.

At some point, only haters with an agenda could watch what Bryce was able to do down the stretch with the cast he had to work with and not be impressed.

Everything could change this season depending on how it plays out, but the idea that he hasn't shown anything is nonsense.

Now is the real challenge for Bryce... being able to replicate and play at that level consistently.

Im excited to see how it unfolds, and hopeful Bryce is going to play like he did down the stretch this year.

I don’t get why people hating on Purdy. You don’t put up the numbers he did for 3 years and just be “average” otherwise you would have had QBs who you claim are better put up way better numbers.

I think the hate on Purdy comes from the fact they had probably a top five OL, receiver, and running back roster at least the past 2 years.

I agree he has unjust hate, but I also recognize that he has a lot of talent to help him out

what hurt Cam the most was the adjustment teams made to our offense with Cam going into  year 2.   Which was what made the first half of that year so rough.  Got to think a variation of that is coming for Bryce this year as he returns to the same O with an offseason of film study

Good point!!!!

This is Bryce's year to put up or shutup.  That's just the reality.  Either he proves himself a high level starting NFL QB or we trade him and move on.

What I saw (as an idiot with a keyboard) to finish out the season was a young QB who was starting to get it.  He made plays with his feet and with his arm.  He threw some insane dimes!  Now, the production wasn't eye popping from a numbers perspective, but the dude made plays.

Its up to Bryce and Dave Canales to make it all work.  I hope it does!  I want to see my Panthers succeed!  Conversely, if Bryce stinks it up, let's work on drafting an upgrade.  But, right now in May, I'm full of Hopium and will continue to choose that line of thinking for now.  I HOPE that all the moves we made this off season lead to a better record in 2025!

I'm not saying he's 9th but there are only 8 QBs currently I would take for sure take over Young. That says more about the quality of QBs vs Young though.

Taking into account contracts, I'm right there with you. Would you rather have Bryce have 10-12 million, or Tua at 50? Easy answer.

Just in general, I do think Bryce is capable of being a Top 10 QB after what he showed to end the season. He just needs to come out and take that next step this year before I think anyone fully buys in.

If you're ever going to expect Bryce to throw for 350yds + 4 TDs consistently then prepare to be disappointed because he's not that type of QB BUT the stats from the last 5 games mean nothing, it was his ability to manage the games and pull of clutch wins or epic performances against the 2 x Superbowl teams.

What I'm trying to say is the stats mean absolutely nothing and you need to look at his overall performance in those 5 games. Dude was clutch.

Bryce can put up yards. Panthers receivers had the lowest YAC in the NFL, and Bryce specifically lost the most yards off of drops in the NFL last season, even after missing 5 games. The stats will come once the receivers improve.

Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there.

It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2...

It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce.

That's not a great thing.

So 2024 draftees count if they're ahead of him, but not if they're below?

Probably better to just compare him with QBs with equal or less NFL experience? There are only 3 other first or second year QBs ahead of him. So he's 4 of 11, and on the rise. We'll see if Jayden and Bo can hold their spots. Either way, all of them had better receivers than Carolina. Hopefully your boy TMac can help in that department.

Watching the games, CJ and Bo didn't look better than Bryce the last 8 games to me. Now Jayden was friggin lights out. That kid can spin it.

Brock "Average" Purdy coming in at 11.  Scandalous.

"Purdy may be a product of the system and surrounding talent, but he’s still led one of the NFL’s most efficient offenses over the past three seasons."

Kinda hard to argue with this justification, even though I would NEVER pick him over Bryce.

As a former Bryce Stan, it's pretty wild to see the pro and anti Bryce camps being so illogical.

He looked far improved in the second half of the season but he also looked like a lower Tier starter in a lot of ways.

This is, as was previously stated, sort of the put up or shut up year for Bryce. If he doesn't really start looking like a franchise QB, it's probably time to pivot in 2026. I don't mean if he is a bust, I mean if he is still just this game manager-esque, 200 yd passing guy that occasionally flashes big plays and big throws.

Franchise QB's are usually undeniable in terms of talent very early on. Bryce's talent was supposed to be his brain and ability to process at a high level. If that doesn't head toward Brees-esque results.....oh wee mayne.

Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch.

I think he vast majority of us fans are very excited about Bryce's play down the stretch. I also think that the biggest question, based on the small sample size, is whether he can replicate it or, better yet, continue his upward trajectory. I sure as hell hope so, and honestly, believe he will. If so, sky's the limit for this young man!
