Wild Idea.. Trade for Shemar Stewart

This might get really interesting. Evidently he's back at TAMU working out with the team and might just try to play college ball again this year. Wild.

If he could win the ability to play college ball again after entering the draft it's gonna turn the draft upside down. Basically anyone who doesn't like their draft position or landing spot or whatever could basically just say screw that and go back to college again, cash another NIL check and try again next year.

I can't speak to whatever underlying issues there may be with Shemar off the field so to speak. But in terms of the responsibility of the franchise. The Bengals had ample opportunity to study interview assess and identify the draft prospects they were interested in. They made the choice to draft Stewart. They should face a steep punishment for allowing this to play out the way it did because they got buyers remorse. The league should make an example out of them and deservedly so.

Unless he has an incredible double digit type season he has effectively tanked his draft stock and shot himself in the foot

Pretty much. His draft status revolved entirely around his measurables and athletic potential. Another year of trash college production would pour a lot of cold water on that.

This is entirely incorrect, while he could sue the NCAA and get to play again, if he plays a single snap of football in UFL or NCAA his rights are retained by the Bengals next year, he has to sit out the entire year for him to be able to re-enter the draft a la like Michael Crabtree almost did vs the 49ers his rookie year.

It would be wild if he is allowed to go back to college but is still a Bengal when he returns to the NFL

3rd and Chandler Zavala.......... Id toss in Yohsi or Brano/DJ Johnson if that's what it took to get the trade done.

Bungals need OL B-A-D

Its un-godly to treat a unique HOF level level like Burrow with the OL they have and seems going to this year.

People forgot during that bungal SB year, Burrow was sacked like 62 times and I believe had the highest hurries as well. They should be in jail for this, no memeing....

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
