It’s called being 37 years old

Yeah you’re right. I wonder why the people who make millions of dollars per year couldn’t plan ahead but me and you probably could have.

Why do you think that is?

What was more embarrassing, when he sacked himself or the pitiful INT staring right at the defender?

I'll say both.  We've got nothing behind Bryce Young, folks.

Hey, this time 10 months ago we would have said we've got nothing behind Andy as Bryce rode the pine. It's a need, but if we got QB1 locked up for the foreseeable future, we can work on QB2 in the future. This roster just needs all the help it can get on the defensive side, I understand the FO not wasting picks or resources on a position that hopefully doesn't see the field. This roster is not good enough where a backup QB can have us competitive anyway

He's a great guy. In his prime he was a respectable starter. But now at this stage of his career he is an awful QB. This lip service is ridiculous.

I know and understand that this was just preseason game #1, but the man just didn't have it in him and look like he was just out there collecting his check.

You could tell with all the smiling when he screwed up that he wasn't taking it seriously and half-assing it when he was in.

I'm not going to freak out over a preseason game, but mannnnnnn, that was pretty pitiful from Andy. Going up against backups and 3's trying to make the team and he looked like dog $hit. We shouldn't see much of him this year, but I'd be interested during cut time if we maybe pivot.

A Sam Howell/Trey Lance type shakes free, I'd be all for it.

No chance LA gets rid of Lance. He looked good for them. Idk about Howell right now though

Bryce has as much to prove this upcoming season as anyone else in the league.

Even if Bryce was solidified don’t we want to have a capable backup that gives us a realistic chance to win?  Like we had Derek Anderson when Cam got hurt in 2014.  Ideally I would want a younger QB who can also push Bryce to keep getting better.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
