He is supposed to be the contested catch guy. Good to see he seems to be able to do it at this level so far.

Hope he can when the bullets are live.

I'm saying it now: not contested catch "guy," it is T-mac'a destiny to become a contested catch god!

The bad is that I haven't seen many clips of him getting open. The good is that he's finding ways to make plays anyway.

Hopefully he picks up a few habits from Thielen, Renfrow and Coker.

Side bar: His initial acceleration leaves alot to be desired but his build up speed is pretty decent. Week 1 of last season he was one of top 5 fastest players in the country. Ironically, beating him also in the top 5 at 20.3 mph was Jimmy Horn Jr.

Typical of bigger WRs. KB was similar in that way. I think T-Mac is faster than KB but definitely doesn't have KB's physicality. He definitely has the better natural hands though KB was one of those odd guys who seemed like his hands got better the harder the catch was.

Man... what could've been...

Still hurts to think about. When KB dominated Clemson to start the season I wanted the Panthers to take him for Cam and was so hype when they did.

Then his mom passed and he just fell apart... I hope he's found peace.

Thielen and TMac are gonna drive Mr. QB School insane this year.  He hates WR that call for the ball with no separation.  Although I guess that's understandable from a career backup lol.

Yep, all reports were out of that joint practice was that KB was the best player on the field and #2 wasn't even close. The combo of the ACL and losing his mom was just too much. He probably didn't have the mental makeup to be great for a long time but I really thing he could've been a David Boston type where he was absolutely dominant for a few years.

Mr. QB School just doesn't realize that he's telling on himself needing a big ass window of a mile of separation to throw into.

    • Unless the league decides to rollback the rule book 30 years, that player at QB isn't winning any Super Bowls.  QB has to elevate those around him.  QBs that are carried by the team are always exposed in the playoffs. Closest thing to an average QB that has won the SB recently is Jalen Hurts.  But he's so unique with his legs and the unstoppable tush push that I don't think it's easy to compare him to anyone.  Certainly not someone who is subbed out for QB sneaks.
    • You absolutely can have hope. You can’t convert people though; making advocacy posts are kind of … not reading the room.   I had a small hope that he would be able to at least manage some games and that they could make it work in some kind of no fun to watch fashion.  But honestly I had 100% determined he was not NFL starter material, and I had conviction. So to root for him to marginally succeed goes against the best interest of the Panthers long term, according to my beliefs. I wanted him gone the minute he got here if I am honest. It was up to him to prove otherwise.  He has rarely shown me anything to think I was wrong on his ceiling.  He did show me some courage last year, standing in the pocket and stepping into his throw in the face of pressure - but that has gone somewhere. He made some nice throws last year in places too, but they invested in him on the level of the Atlanta game should be his norm. Good luck seeing that again on Sunday. Still, he did it once, so technically it could happen again.
    • Damn that was a longer post than I intended, Maybe I should have started a new thread.
