If that’s the case then we wasted a pick on Etienne. Personally, I’d like 700, 600, and 400 yards from three guys because everyone will be fresh in February.

How so? Dowdle is on a one year deal. If we get great production cheaply while Etienne gets to learn and develop so he steps in seamlessly next year, I'd say that's a win for everyone.

I don't think so. we signed Dowdle to a 1 year contract and know we are not going to pay 2 RBs big contracts. Brooks could end up great or he could do nothing. Etienne was a 2026 and beyond move, we have Chuba, Etienne, and either Brooks or another cheap RB.

If Brooks ends up not playing another down for us, does he replace the Eric Shelton?

Yeah, "Thunder and Lightning" were the duo for the Titans. White and Johnson maybe?

yeah, lendale white and chris johnson (4.24). they had that name cornered before we williams and stewart could take it. so they went with double trouble. i think what the titans had going on with those two fit thunder and lightning better...that year anyways.

then lendale stopped drinking tequila, lost weight, and fizzled out.

If Bryce goes below 4 TDs passing/game he has failed. No exceptions…

FWIW I dont think any QB has ever averaged 4 TD passes per game for an entire season.  Not saying Bryce doesn't have to prove a lot this year but we have to have human level expectations.

What sport are you watching?

Manning's record season of 55 tds in 2013 was less than 3.5 tds a game.

I’m expecting no less than 6 per game with a rushing TD every other game

I think the first time I heard that was Bettis and Brooks at ND. Then, pretty sure White and Reggie Bush used it at USC. Of course that's college not pros.

    • I hate to burst anyones bubble but this guy played 188 total defensive snaps in three years but 802 special teams snaps. If we do kick the tires, it's probably gonna be for that latter part.
    • I do believe that Evero gets canned before the end of the season and Capers takes over the D. I think the stage is set for Evero to fall on the sword for a 4-7 win season.  Not saying it would be a set up but I do think if that transpires, the seat under DC might start getting pretty warm, rightly or wrongly. That's my read on Tepper. I am not at all excited nor am I dreading anything. I just have extremely low expectations so I am just waiting to see what this revision of the roster looks like.  I FEEL like we are better on paper than last season's team but I wouldn't be remotely shocked if we were as bad or worse. Again, I do think this is the 2nd worst roster in franchise history overall. What will really make me happy is for some of the big questions to finally be answered(Bryce, Ikey, Horn, etc). I would like to see a real expansion of our core player pool(basically just D. Brown currently). I want to see a couple of hits in free agency and a couple in the draft. If we accomplish those things, I have faith that we are at least moving in the right direction after many, many years doing the opposite.
    • Considering our depth. Certainly kick the tires.
