Dalton is actually the perfect backup, imo.  He and Bryce have a great relationship.

Absolutely need to see what Plummer can do because Dalton may not even have enough anymore to fill in for one full game without falling apart.

...and special teams! What the... the one unit that has looked terrible all night.

I think Plummer is that guy here. You have your starter, your washed up vet backup, your young development guy. Pretty normal setup. If we go to Andy we’re screwed anyway.

But why not have that developmental guy be a 3rd or 4th round pick instead of a guy who wasn’t even good in college

Dalton is not a serviceable backup anymore. Pray to Jesus we don't have to go to him this year

If we have to go to him for any real length of time, it is probably better strategically for him to poo the bed.

I was hoping to see some Plummer tonight.

Special teams has been a disaster tonight. By far the biggest concern to take from this game

Tbh, I was concerned with our choice to sign statistically the worst punter in the NFL, but the issues we’re having tonight have nothing to do with him.

Absolutely inexcusable for the franchise that to my knowledge still has the worst or one of the worst win percentages in all of sports the last few years. And the fact that anyone with an ounce of self respect would excuse it is pitiful.

The issue is it's a 17 game season. Anything can happen. Bryce can miss a few games. He can hit a wall again and then you're faced with the dilemma of sit him or let him work through it. Either way Dalton is in no way shape or form an answer. They milked that thumb sprain for all it was worth last year. Confirmed anything anyone needed to know about Dalton.

Just curious--when was the last time a backup QB took a team to the playoffs?  I don't recall.

I think it’s coming next year or two. We aren’t in a position to give up a 3rd or 4th. Those picks are gonna play heavily for us this year. Truth sucks that this roster lacks talent and we gotta find it for positions of need.
