Excited for football in general but I said 4 here. I hope I'm wrong but I don't believe in Bryce and it feels like one more season of waiting until we actually have a chance to be good.

I'm excited but still nervous about a few things that make me a 6:

  • Playbook/Playcalling - Is it diversified or has that all been talk? (run game in particular?) - if not, we may still have a lot of stalled drives.  Thing is, we have an OL that can play all looks - Inside zone, Power/Gap, Midzone, outside zone, Pin & Pull.  Would love if we deployed a balanced attack with it all.  Especially now that we have 3 totally capable backs in house
  • Bryce continuing his week 13-18 play - please for the love of god work out
  • Inside Linebackers - Trevin is still developing and Rozeboom has not been good without adequate support.  Our line should help but they could be bad in both the run and pass.

One thing I've learned in life that's usually correct:  when everyone is selling, buy.

The sentiment here is not far off Rhule level.  Must mean that good things are coming.  I'm pumped.

I’m excited. It’s a new season, anything can happen. Cherish these moments. Last season it literally only lasted until game 1 so enjoy this while it lasts.

Also, look at it this way, one way or another we will have a franchise QB next year. Either Bryce shows he’s that guy this year and it’s a great season, or we crash and burn and have a high draft pick in a strong QB class. No matter what, this season will provide answers and clarity moving forward.

Every team is even from a win-loss perspective and I'm a half glass full kind of guy so 10!

The way I see it is if the offence can sustain longer drives it gives an opportunity for the defence to remain fresh and be more competent this year.

I also think this year is it for Bryce. He has all the tools to deliver. Either he looks good and we have our QB1 or we move on in the offseason

    • Hey if they could beat Seattle… tiebreaker head to head over GB, LARms, Seattle… win out the record is 11-6.  Now rap my knuckles for suggesting we win out, but that would be some funny poo. Talk about sneaking up on people.
    • I expected 6 wins this season. I need to see the Panthers blow by that now that they exceeded it by 1. I like how Canales has schemed around the weaknesses on offense in the passing game. I am impressed with the receivers, run blocking, running back combo and secondary communication in zone. Defense and QB need more consistency. The improvement of the defensive play calling and critical 3rd down and 4Q passing when trailing is going to be what I am looking for going into the playoffs. If the Panthers can consistently regain the lead after trailing over the next 4 games, I can see them competing in the playoffs and worth a reevaluation of the last 2 seasons' weaknesses. This is the prove it or lose it moment in their Panthers careers for Young and Evero. No excuses.
    • He's on the smaller size for a center (5'8" 175lbs) and he is a bit of a liability in the faceoff circle. But, he's a proven 60 pt player with room to grow. I'd still rather go get TT from Buffalo. Rossi would be a great consolation prize, though.
