I got no probs with this trade. we did a vet a solid, this will not go unnoticed by other players in the league

we got something for a guy that was retiring after the end of the season

we knocked BY9 off his crutch, sink or swim for him now for sure

our young guys getting the reps they need

Of course theilen wanted to go back, he is aging player on his last legs and there was no benefit for him to be loyal to a team like the panthers. Thats the reality some fans dont want to understand.

If you really think theilen was that important then we were doomed from the start.

His loyalty to the team that cut him

vs

the team that picked him up AND gave him a raise

Interesting logic. Like, battered wife syndrome

Im glad the Vikings had to eat that salary

Joe Person today on wfnz says he believes it’s not Hunter weighing options with other teams at the hold up but more so weighing playing football or going back to where he was working.

If this is true about Hunter trying to decide if he still wants to play then Dan and Dave made the right call to cut him. Hunter had to be talked into coming back by Dabo. Canales also said in his presser that he saw ups and downs with Hunter's play in training camp and that he was inconsistent. They are still interested in bringing him back and leaving it up to him, but if he is still struggling to decide if he still wants to play or not then he just needs to retire.

Then there is building around Evero which was an extreamly stupid approach this year. I know people here try to project a switch to 4-3 but that's just cope to me.

Evero tried to leave! He wanted out! That the most amazing thing.

mark my words that move by tepper will haunt us for years. Completely unheard of in that situation.

Hunter wanted to play for Carolina and seemingly only for Carolina.  He didn't make the team.  His comeback attempt was not to achieve the status of the on and off practice squad team (for a bad team).  So I would assume he most likely just walks away.

only inconsistent aspect ever reported or seen (and cameras and eyeballs are on all of it), is when they put him in preseason games w/ a bad QB throwing hospitals (and he still pulled in hospital balls) and zero positive plays occurring because of that.  Every coach we have ever had bullshits on the mic about the actions of the Panthers.

I still say its simplistic.  There was really one spot.  It was Moore or Renfrow up for that.   Dave Canales went with his guy (simply because it's his guy) and he can't get on the mic say it that way.  So there is spin on the decision.

not swapping Evero for Salah might be another blunder that bites this team in the ass.   We know without a shadow of a doubt that dude knows what he is doing on defense

Adam Thielen actually requested the trade

on the @KyleBaileyClub show, Dan Morgan mentions #Panthers didn’t want to move him but also they didn’t want to stand in his way. Thielen told him, "this is what I want, this is where I want to go"

Also doesn't this kind of undermine DC's answer that AT never wanted to leave?  Kinda funny.

It is wild given how incredibly impulsive Tepper has been in firing coaches that somehow the coach that oversaw the worst defense statistically ever was able to keep his job.

I thought Saleh would have been a shoe-in given their connection.

I hope Canales/Morgan/Tillis have someone in mind if/when they pull the plug on the Evero experiment

If you are putting too much emphasis on how players feel about getting cut from a team then I dont know what to tell you. Some of them understand it's a business and tough decisions gotta be made. They don't get that emotional over it and he takes that raise back with him. Plus he probably wanted to finish his career there anyway and his Family clearly wanted to go back.......so that's what happened.

I don’t think there’s a chance in hell salah would come here.

we hired a head coach no other team interviewed and I think there’s a reason for that.

Nothing emotional about it

it is called pride

if my Fortune 500 company cut me, no way in sweet hell would I leave the one that treated me well, gave me a raise and resurrected my career for one that didnt value me and kicked my ass to the curb

but that is me

everyone is different

the same with Cam Newton.  No way would I come back to have butts in the seats for Tepper and Rhule.

Doesn't sound like Thielen had much confidence in the QB room in Carolina.

But he went out of his way to talk glowingly of the rookie QB in Minnesota just two months ago.

Exactly. I noticed that as well.
