Ive never thought this about any season, but if the out-come of this week one may determine.......I feel there is too much riding if the Panthers lose. They finally won back the hope of some fans and if they lose to the worst QB going on years on one of the worst teams.....it will ruin the whole season for me.

If they want to be relevant, if they want the fan base to give a poo, they need to win

no excuses anymore

it is the Jaguars, not the Eagles or Chiefs or or

of course, Evero’s defense will make Etienne look like Walter Payton and Lawrence like the #1 draft pick he is supposed to be

tbh, my expectations are low until proven otherwise. I'm hopeful to see the team come out of the gate swinging, but there's a lot of questions that still need to be answered that we've been asking all offseason.

Looking at the moves that the team has made and the way that current contracts for this roster are set up, I get the feeling that the team is looking to compete but it's all about evaluating whether or not they're going to need to invest in a new signal caller to start the 2026 season.

The offense needs to hit the ground running and build off of last season's momentum. If they come out sputtering and can't figure it out quickly, they're going to dig a hole that they're not going to be able to get themselves out of.

Fingers crossed that the defense comes together quickly. They won't be a top-10 unit but pls just don't be bottom-5.

So let me get this straight - Renfrow goes from not physically being ready per Canales to bonafide starter?

Coker also went from "being in the best shape of his career" to being a slug that doesn't work out.

This franchise is about as trustworthy as Russian media.

Your timeline is off.

He was out of shape before getting called out for it and he reacted and got in shape

I'm guessing that the plan was to rotate him with Coker in order to offset both of their conditioning issues, but now with Coker out that's going to likely give JHJ some opportunities. 🤞

Bryce Young still hasn’t shown he can open a season on the right foot. While he’s proven he can close strong, my expectations for these early weeks remain low until he demonstrates otherwise.

He does get a relatively soft matchup against the Jaguars, so hopefully he shows signs of putting the early-season struggles behind him, but I’m not overly optimistic just yet.

Doesn't help he barely had any preseason reps. We'll see.

    • Technically speaking, Fields has been a better QB than Bryce Young in the NFL.  I mean it’s bottom rung comparing by BY isn’t better.  Thats what I don’t get about the talk this week.  We don’t have a QB edge
    • Might be different against a team with no legitimate pass catching options outside of their rookie TE though.  Their #1 WR tomorrow has 8 catches this season, next best WR receptions number this year is 4. If we can't defend that while Horn travels with their TE, then we have some serious problems.   Maybe we don't end up doing that in the end, but it's probably how I'd be scheming up the defense tomorrow when they have only 1 non RB pass catching option.
    • I fought sleep to stay awake just to watch that fumble on the goal line as we were going in for the go ahead score and said fug it, I'm going to bed. I've seen this movie before. I know how this ends. This bullshit of having California teams in conference with east coast teams is trash. That game probably didn't end until 2:30AM. Hell, it was 2AM at the time of the fumble and there was still 3+ minutes to play. In conference games being played into the 2AM hour for local audiences is terrible for the game. And the worst rule in football really does need fixed. Fumbling through the endzone or a fumble recovers by the D in the end zone should not result in a touch back and the ball on the 20. Fumbling through the endzone should not be a turnover. Fumbling out of bounds isn't a turnover anywhere else on the field. That should be the offense's ball on the one yard line. If the D recovers it in the endzone it should be the D's ball on the one yard line. Everyone knows this and everyone talks about it so just fix it already. If Cal was getting the ball at the goal line instead of out to the 20 I would've kept watching. That's a completely different scenario than the ball at the 20.
