This is not working. It has not worked at all over the last two years. Why have we not looked for someone else?

That fact he was brought back after last year makes it 'how do any of these guys have a job'?

Twpper fires too fast but kept Rhule for year 3 which was a joke after year 2, 2023 was a shitshow top to bottom and he ended up keeping one of those guys while hiring his friend to coach. Finally just flush the toilet. Don't worry about the parts that are maybe worth keeping and just do a hard reset.

It is appropriate that we wore white shirts and white pants for this game, because that defense was a bunch of marshmallows. Little pressure, most of the tackling done by the DBs. Got pushed around by a meh team.

We keep waiting for that defense to get better. And waiting. And waiting.

dude, You dont understand, this is the preseason.  By week 5 or 6, we're gonna be ready to look...well...terrible then too.  God damn Im so fuging tired of how we fuging coddle our athletes like their fuging toddlers.  GROW THE fug UP!  If you think playing a fuging game is hard, work 12 on a construction site and tell me how it is because those  guys put in twice the work for .1% of the pay.

Time to blow the whole thing up. I know it's just the first game but when the milk smells spoiled, you don't have to drink a couple of glasses to make sure before throwing out the jug.

It isn't coddling. This is a strategy used by multiple teams in the NFL, some of which don't start any starters.

Has nothing to do with that at all. It has to do with the fact that we rarely ever have our players ready for games. Literally rarely ever. That is standard shitty coaching.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
