How does Evero still have a job

It isn't coddling. This is a strategy used by multiple teams in the NFL, some of which don't start any starters.

Has nothing to do with that at all. It has to do with the fact that we rarely ever have our players ready for games. Literally rarely ever. That is standard shitty coaching.

Except, ya know the teams that use those strategy's?  Teams that havent been fighting for the first overall pick EVERY fuging YEAR.  If Im the KC Chiefs, the eagles, the bills, your right, but not only havent we BEEN to the playoffs since 2017, we havent even LOOKED competitive since then besides a brief stint with Wilks who...coincidentally DID NOT coddle the players.  (Im not mad at you, just fuging frustrated and venting, I know you're a good dude)

The defense was the least of our problems today.  Jax only had 20 points midway through the 4th quarter.  That's fairly typical in the NFL.  If we had ANY offense to speak of, the defense wouldn't have looked nearly as bad.  That said, Evero needs to go after this season, well, the whole coaching staff.

I put that very, very, VERY far down the list of issues, TBH.

If we had played 100% of the snaps in the preseason with our starters, I don't think you would see a substantially better result today. If that were the case, by Game 4 this season we should be hitting our stride in theory. Watch that not happen.

It's because this is a bad roster with bad coaches.

Practical Answer: Canales might be another Ron Rivera type that's either too nice or too slow to pull the trigger on firings.

I get being patient, and I get wanting to give guys a chance, but when somebody does something HISTORICALLY bad, you just can't afford those things.

Well he is a newer HC and this isn't "his guy" either. In theory, he should have a quicker trigger finger on that. I suspect it might not be completely his decision or at least a complicated one.

Time to blow the whole thing up. I know it's just the first game but when the milk smells spoiled, you don't have to drink a couple of glasses to make sure before throwing out the jug.

Same crap different year. They have yet to prove they are not losers. So much dog poo they refused to address in any way. I have no idea how they could get to justifying a year 3 for any of these people.

Pacing an NFL team is an extremely difficult thing to do.

Tom Coughlin used to pistol whip his guys in training camp. The result was that they nearly always started off hot, but also regularly faded down the stretch.

Other coaches would go easy in the offseason and thus produce teams that looked like sh-t early but improved down the stretch. Problem being unfortunately that by the time they looked good, they were already in too big hole to dig out of.

Finding that balance is EXTREMELY difficult. Plenty of coaches never do

    • Looking like it might be game 7 for Pitt and Phi. Philly is spent. I like more rest for the canes
    • Moton is the man through and through. 2 things I'll always give Gettleman credit for, 1 is drafting Moton, the other is building a SB contending roster and blowing it up in one off-season
    • Kurb is still alive and well.  I’m still friends with him on all of the social media.  He truly is a great man!  That’s my bro!  He always looked out for me since the early days of the huddle.  It definitely makes me sad that he just quit posting here, but that’s life.  He still shares his takes on social media and X, but a lot of the huddle vets just grew tired of this format and the environment, I guess?  It’s a lot of guys that were valuable contributors here that just stopped posting but are still alive and passionate Panthers fans.  Blindsite used to post huge write-ups and was a well-respected poster and then just disappeared.  We had one of these type threads several years ago and he checked back in and explained he just lost the motivation to stay active here.  It was amazing hearing from him again…   I signed up in 04 after coming over from the Charlotte.com boards and been here ever since.  (For those that don’t know - this is Proudiddy - had to change the name very recently due to ‘ol tootsie roll penis and the bad press 😂).  I’m forever thankful for all of you, even those who I haven’t had the greatest history with, I still appreciate yall.  Many have come and gone, both figuratively and literally, and that has put a lot into perspective over the years.  I went from a young, newly married, wide-eyed twenty year-old guy with a baby on the way, to a now forty-two year-old guy, recently divorced and newly re-married guy with my oldest baby now an adult and 5 more kids since.  And what ride it has been!  You guys have been a much bigger part of my life than I really care to acknowledge.😂
