1.32 — WR Xavier Legette

2.46 — RB Jonathon Brooks

3.72 — LB Trevin Wallace

4.101 — TE Ja'Tavion Sanders

5.157 — CB Chau Smith-Wade

6.200 — DT Jaden Crumedy

7.240 — LB Michael Barrett

lol

1st pick was a panic we need a WR for Bryce type of pick - they chose the wrong one.

2nd pick was inexcusable because RB was the one position we didn't desperately need

I get the Wallace pick - dude has great athleticism for the LB position. Just has zilcho instincts

4th and 5th round picks look good to me

Could care less about 6th and 7th round because those are usually special teamers at best caliber players. Plus we got Coker as a UDFA to negate them.

Overall probably a bad draft because of the 1st 2 picks + Wallace looking bad (granted, I think Brooks would have been a good RB if he could stay healthy). I do think Dan did a good job in the 2025 draft though.

I don't know if the problem is our scouting department, the front office, or both.

Front office chooses the scouting department.

For my part, I wasn't a fan of Cole Spencer. We only parted ways with him this year and I'm hoping that proves to be a positive in the future.

Without any real effort those 1st 3 picks could have been

Ladd McConkey - WR

Zach Frazier - C

Blake Corum - RB

2 difference makers and a highly ranked RB if we had still wanted to go that direction. It was so simple and it was hard not to screw up, yet....

If we redid that an took an RB give me Bucky Irving (with a side bonus that it takes him away from our divsion).

I agree with the first two, probably would have gone with Payton Wilson over Trevin in the 3rd since we obviously are way worse off at ILB than RB

Just for reference regarding the Legette pick. Bryce Young's father publicly lobbied for XL to be the pick for his son.

Oh yeah took a break from his "Sports dad" public speaking grift he does to weigh in on who our FO should draft lol. Dude seems like such a fraud if you look at his twitter and personal website

Director of scouting has been with the team since 2021

Director of pro scouting since 2020

Both have been promoted heavily from lower positions since then.

Assistant director is from the Commanders. "Was with them for 15 years"

Bunch of lower level area scouts have been with the team for 2+ years at least or since before Morgan was promoted.

So the team is basically using the same staff that Scott Fitterer used.

    • How they treated the Baker/Sam thing was a joke. He was used as a DE on the PS. He may not have been any good here had he really been given a chance to succeed, but that whole situation was a clusterfug. I don't blame him for wanting out of this Tepper led poo show.
    • Might be the only terms on which both sides could agree. Morgan probably wanted 3 years and Mays' agent probably pushed him for a prove-it deal. Immediately leaking the desire to test the market only furthers this notion.
    • I'm sure someone can look it up on this board, but back when we jettisoned Darnold, I'd tried to defend him saying that he was still a young QB with a high ceiling, he was just surrounded here with bad coaching and a poorly built team. I said he'd see a Super Bowl before we did.  And people just laughed.  Same folks who said Baker Mayfield sucked and was a washout. Same folks who live to slam Bryce. (And honestly, my decision on Bryce is still hanging out there, undecided, swaying from yes to no). I'm not saying I know a damned thing about raising up a QB, but I know that I'm not as clueless as some others. Some of these kids that come out as top draft picks get thrown into the fire on a badly built team, a desperate lower tier HC, OCs and QB coaches that are struggling to move up the ladder and an injured, mad fanbase that wants immediate results or it's to the chopping block with some kid that just had the temerity to do well in college football and then come to the podium when their name was called.
