You gotta be able to read the defense to improve and I've yet to see anything that shows young can read a defense when it's not in prevent.

It was driving me crazy on that last drive just how long he was holding on to the ball. Both me and my wife were screaming at the TV, "Throw the damn ball!!"

Especially on that final 4th down. If you know the sack is coming just throw the dang ball up, and at least give your receivers a chance to try and do something.

Coincidentally, Ricky Rubio was drafted over Steph Curry in the same draft. Had the same issues in the NBA that Bryce has in the NFL that can be distilled into two words, "Too small".

If you could but Murray’s or prime Wilson’s arm on Young he would be pretty good. 
Instead the only elite trait he supposedly had was his mind and that is not anywhere close to elite. 
We literally took a QB with not good physical NFL QB traits who is short all because his mind is elite. 
It’s baffling.

The “super-processor” who consistently makes bad decisions. It’s almost like we were completely conned by the Young family and the Alabama coaching staff

Well…when a qb has no arm for a pass over 20  yards, this is what happens

Yes i know he drops passes but even a stopped watch is right twice a day.  
 

He might get lucky and it would  at least give a threat to move defenders off the line

I think we good hoodwinked thinking just because a QB was successful at Alabama, they will be successful in NFL. If history tells us anything, most any QB was successful under Saban and have been poor NFL QB's. Hell their best NFL QB left the school after being demoted (and goes on to win a Super Bowl) LOL.  Bama's talent and coaching was superior to almost everyone they played making life a lot easier for a QB.

Yeah this is overlooked for "reasons" but we aren't going to get those lucky breaks against legit contenders on the rest of the schedule. It's gonna get ugly.

Alabama yes. In general the ‘SEC success guarantees NFL success’ fallacy was really tough to overcome too. You still have to look at the player and extrapolate what their college performance would look like against a team full of NFL vets. 
 

I think 62 SEC players were drafted in 2023. But there were over 1600 players rostered on SEC a teams. You might even  face an SEC defense that had no one drafted. Like Vanderbilt had no one taken in 2025. 
So you just can’t blindly hold that hey he was great in the SEC he is a lock. Damn, especially with a weak armed little guy with bad throwing mechanics,
