Yeah, Smitty is talking as an announcer. Would Smitty have said that if he was playing on the same team as XL and watched XL kill a drive because he couldn’t drag his toe on the third step? I don’t think so.

Fake outrage from an entertainer...

And yes he would have absolutely chewed him out on the field for that kind play.

1. Charlotte has been very good to Smitty and his comment is out of line.

2. XL is Smitty, just 180 degrees out of phase. He is the quintessential anti-Smith. Give 89 the ball and he will win a game for you. His high gear was terrifying and he was fearless. He was the bully on every snap he ever played here.

XL is Mr alligator arms who lives in fear of contact. He gets boxed out by guys he outweighs by 40 pounds and looks generally clueless.

Why he has chosen to defend someone he would have BBQ’ed as a teammate stumps me.

Well, he's half right.  This city is soft af. Hell, most of the people here arent from here.  And the ones that are, are all wine and cheese crowds.  This city doesn't deserve an NFL team.

I mean, you give the city something worth cheering for and they show up pretty well.

Carolina Panthers are about to log their 8th straight losing season....and you got Panther mouthpieces acting like the fans are the issue.

the best freaking sports team in Charlotte is a soccer team that was birthed 4 years ago lol

Yeah, ever since he got exposed for rearranging other men’s wive’s IUDs, raw dogging mind you, he has really let loose.  It’s a weak ass city you made your home and birthed and raised kids in.  STFU.

Haha yea I’m really surprised Smitty is still rambling on and on with awful takes about WRs without catching flak for THAT sh*t daily

Lol, Smitty would have been the one to try and chokeslam XL for being a bum ala when he punched Ken Lucas in the face that one year...

XL's jaw would already be wired shut from when 89 broke it.  89 would have HATED XL. HATED.  He checks all the boxes of what 89 hated.    First round pick.  Commercials.  Money.  No play.

Yeah, it is ironic. He was notorious for going after Ken Lucas, that other WR I can’t remember, Dwayne Jarrett, and Armond Smith. He was not an easy teammate by any means

Yeah, Smitty is up there with Cam and Pep as not just my favorite Panthers, but favorite players ever.  But the poo he’s been doing since Tepper brought him back?  Save that poo and stfu.  Him getting on air and picking on Joey Slye while singing the praises of Matt Rhule and how he believed in him, and then Rhule gets canned and now he tells us it was horrible under Rhule.  The poo about Mingo being the real deal.  He is a fuging bullhorn for Tepper and it’s fuging pathetic.  As a professional, and as many have pointed out, imagine Smitty being on the field with a Rhule, a Mingo, a XL.  He would’ve fuged all them up because they weren’t pros.  Smitty had a MJ mentality - you either coming or get left behind, but you’re not gonna drag me down.  And now all of sudden you preach understanding and patience?  He’s a bully to people he can bully, and here he is punching down again (ask Anthony Bright and Ken Lucas about it) because somebody’s paying him to push bullshit.

    • Canales is in the middle of the most critical point of his Panthers tenure: The 2nd half of the 2nd season. Looking back here is how the other head coaches performed to this point and how their time here pivoted. Dom Capers First 26 Games: 13-13 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (1996) won final 7 games to win division, took Panthers to NFC Championship Game. Final Record/Accomplishments: 30-34; NFC West Division Title-1996 George Seifert First 26 Games: 12-14 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2000) Finished 3-3 with mixed results in games; finished 1-15 the following season. Final Record/Accomplishments: 16-32; None. John Fox First 26 Games: 15-11 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2003) corrected the season after a strong start and mid-year stumble to win division, Won NFC Championship Game. Final Record/Accomplishments: 73-71; (1) Conference Championship; (3) Playoff Appearances; (2) Division Titles. Ron Rivera First 26 Games: 8-18 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2012) Won 5/6 remaining games; finished 12-4 following season and won division. Final Record/Accomplishments: 76-63-1; (1) Conference Championship; (4) Playoff Appearances; (3) Division Titles; (2) COY Awards Matt Rhule First 26 Games: 10-16 2nd Half of 2nd Season: (2021) Lost final 7 games in a row, terminated 5 games into following season. Final Record/Accomplishments: 11-27; None. Dave Canales First 26 Games: 10-16 2nd Half of 2nd Season: TBD Final Record/Accomplishments: TBD The writing was on the wall at the end of Rhule and Seifert’s 2nd season, while Capers, Fox, and Rivera all finished strong and rallied. To be fair, Capers 1997 and 1998 seasons weren’t great, but he was faced with adversity and still managed to leave with at least one successful season...thanks to the second half of his 2nd season.
    • There are always a few head scratcher calls a game on us.  That was bshit
    • Honestly unless the Packers WR in the end zone was disqualified from tackling, he was literally right behind him ready to tackle him at the 5 yard line. Probably better he dropped it field position wise unless people think Mike Jack has Ted Ginn speed or something.
