No more mistakes on draft day...

Panthers cannot afford to fug this up again. I wouldn't  invest a number number one pick on a QB again in this draft...always a roll of the dice. To many areas of dire need. Choose Dl, Edge or LB for our first round pick. Add another Oline player in the middle rounds.

No more PROJECTS or INJURED players please. The QB situation is dicey. Will he ever emerge due to his limited physical abilities or not? They obviously need a plan B on the roster. I HATE to say it, but maybe a veteran like Winston for Canales to work with would be an option short term.

This season is going down the drain fast.

Winston would lose a ton of games here while being more fun to watch and setting records for INT's.

A very clear middling backup QB is not the answer. You will never be able to break Jameis of his Favre-esque gunslinging. Many have tried, none have succeeded.

As for not fuging up the draft? poo....we are many years into that. I don't expect that will change anytime soon.

There's always going to be mistakes in the draft, it's a crapshoot in a lot of ways. Our problem isn't just bad drafting, though it's a big part of our problem. Don't oversimplify it. It seems like Tepper and his gang of clowns sit around and see if they can come up with new ways to fug up a football organization. We draft bad. We make bad decisions in FA. We give big money to the wrong players in house. We hire bad GMs and coaches. The scouts are either ignored or completely suck. There's not much of anything that we do right. It goes far beyond just the draft.

We need a full scale tear-down and rebuild. Done properly this time. No more holdovers from the previous regime. If Morgan goes, Canales goes, all the scouts and front office personnel go and all the assistants go.

Hire someone to actually consult and build an organization, not just put together a staff.

Not much to tear down on the roster. A few contracts to dump but really pretty bare bones due to years of poor management and not being able to get more expensive people to come into their mess.

100% on holdovers. The problem is the Teppers will be a part of the hiring at some level, which they have failed at in every way. I can't see a way around that hurdle unless it's pure luck at this point.

IMHO, the 2025 draft class was a step in the right direction. No cute picks. Tet is looking like the best first round pick this franchise has had since Cam. There is a very likely possibility that Scourton and Princely evolve in to solid players. When was the last time this franchise got the first 3(!!) picks right? I know this is a snap judgement with a way too small sample size but I don’t think I’m wrong. A draft that nets 3 gamers is an enormous success.

Whiffing on Bryce, XL and Brooks was DEVASTATING. The hallmark of this team has always been early round projects, injury history and/or tweeners. They think they’re going to outsmart the 31 other teams that passed on the dude and it has NEVER once worked out. I still don’t know WTF they were thinking with Bryce over that guy who is now in Houston. It hurts to say his name. Did they not think he was smart enough? I can see how his ‘alpha-ness’ would have been intimidating.

This year is at least appears different (thus far) in that they did not whiff with Tet. 2 games in and there is 100% huddle consensus that he is an absolute stud with game changing ability. Dude is unguardable. Front runner for OROY. He was the obvious choice… but when was the last time this franchise chose obvious?

Next draft has to be line heavy and no trading valuable capital on a reach pick. If a Luke type LB or top center/LT is there in the first ok, but edge and DT have to be priority.

Recent History tells you it's gonna be offense again

I think 4 out of the last 5 first round picks have been on offense and two in a row have been on WRs

I think 95% of us expected us to go defense this year. I almost don't blame them considering what Legette is doing and Theilen wanting to leave.

If we end up finishing 0-17 to 4-13,  there's an extremely high likelihood of getting another QB in R1 , IMO. Because that means either Bryce got hurt or he performed like poo down the stretch.

Yup. Lots of moves to make but half that trade list can just be moved to cut IMO. Easy and well deserved vs being hard to justify someone else spending for them.

Should have said lots of contracts to dump vs few. My mistake, few worth keeping. I just don't see those as hard to dump or needing further justification. 2/3s of the roster would be bottom 1/3 being churned on other teams every season.

    • "by name"?  You mean they are letting him say he is retiring or stepping down? That's even more embarrassing than being fired (he basically quit) and so transparently false that the media will kill him and this university.  If this happens, I may just turn full fledge to an SMU fan since I live in Dallas now. I'm just about sick of this university's approach to basketball and football.
