Xavier Legette has checked out. I see no fight in this manman

This whole thing is dumb AF.

The org pushed for him. Morgan wanted him. Bryce Young's daddy wanted him.

If this guy is a bust heads need to roll.

Not to mention him getting his own dumbass sandwich at the stadium before even taking a snap this season.

I just felt like they were boxed in by a Make Bryce succeed now directive.
They chose Legette because they had the other roles filled. Rather than look at the longer term.
I think it was why Brooks too. Just my biased feeling.
Everybody said it last year: take away the excuses.
With a little grace this year it looks like a much better draft

I think it's even simpler. We have the wrong people making decisions for us in the FO.

That's what bothers me about the way this franchise operates. And it's also just inconsistent. I mean our starting QB is 30+ starts deep and we're still letting him find his way despite the majority of that sample size being mediocre underwhelming or just bad.

They have been pining for a "face" of the franchise after ejecting Cam.

Ironically, 100% of the attempts have flopped.

Curse of Cam?

Well if we're being realistic the Panthers have been in perpetual free fall since we unceremoniously cut ties with Newton.

Unfortunately it all begins with Tepper. And now after Tepper has made an embarrassment of himself for years we give people keys and anoint them this or that before they've really done anything. It's not helpful. But it's also not helpful to seemingly have a different set of standards and apply those unevenly. Realistically the actual face of the franchise should be held to the highest standard of anyone but it seems like that's reserved for everyone else including coaches. It's a recipe for further instability. But let it play out. If we know our Panthers. We know it's gonna be a long season.

    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
    • I'd honestly take The Golden Calf of Bristol over Young. You know you can design an O around his skillset to win you games. Plus, as a bonus, said O would wear him down within 3 years so you could move on from him.
