Yeah. I came to understand that even if we could somehow scheme up some wins with Young, and we probably could… I don’t like watching that brand of ball.

Yeah, something like Cam vs the Giants or Seahawks, never gonna happen with BY.

Ok so I think I understand the picture a little better now. Full disclosure, I took all of last season off...this is really the first season since 2019 I have paid attention. So we brought in canales to do his thing with the qb. That's why it is a QB issue and not a coach issue.

So I stand by my joke comment, bring in russ, make him hold it down til we draft a goodern.

He only seems to look good when he doesn’t play scared and the supporting cast is playing lights out. Which is too big of an ask at the NFL level. Individual matchups are won and lost every single play.

#1 pick should be elevating the team

the only thing he's elevated is our draft position

I mean, it's predictable. You have an owner who has churned through 7 head coaches in as many years and we look as bad as ever on the field. Seems like folks are going into self preservation mode without the realization that going at each other in the press is an absolutely fuging terrible look that will probably be considered regarding future roles when they inevitably end up getting fired. If I'm their agent I'm advising them to be aware of who they're working for. Any day in the office could be the day this guy throws a fit and rage fires you. Don't sabotage your future opportunities trying to salvage this one.

.why do the Panthers always seem to have such a difficult time properly evaluating talent ? if you have a player who has started since 2023 & in that time have amassed a mountain of film for reference & also seen on a regular basis in practice.then yes most defenitely going into year 3 you should have a pretty good idea of what you have in a player .if not, then being an NFL GM might not be your actual cup of tea

i cant help but think about other teams in similar situations like the Colts w/ AR & Daniels or the 49ers w/ Trey Lance & Brock Purdy

yes Bryce Young is a bust & water is wet period.however , my main concern moving forward is your going to asks this same GM to either draft a Qb or sign one in FA or make another trade.i sure hope not ..just saying

Well as a fanbase we have to reconcile with the reality that after the debacle that was giving full control and generational wealth to Matt Rhule which ended comically bad. Morgan now and Fitterer before him have been largely figureheads and the Tepper's have been pushing and steering the overall agenda. As such. Salvaging the trade and selection of Bryce Young has been the #1 goal because they wanted him and they do not want to admit they made a catastrophic mistake.

This is why we have made basically no changes to the scouting staff in many years and instead we've pivoted to hiring and putting resources into analytics and PFF.

Unfortunately even if we fire Morgan no GM worth his salt is going to take a job here knowing he has to be a sycophant to and take orders from the Tepper's.

i agree Teppers ego has turned a really bad situation into a catastrophe .& moreover as a result no one wants to work with or for an egomaniac like David Tepper who is heavily involved in the descion making

& as long as this franchise is controlled by Teppers analytics & PFF fueled ego telling him that he is somehow right even when he is clearly wrong year after year  .then yes this franchise will continually find themselves in the same or similar situations as they are currently in & possibly even worse.

if nothing changes then nothing changes &  the Panthers did not become the least talented team in the NFL by mistake.

unforutantenly we cannot fire the owner & can only hope that David Tepper ego will  allow  him to truly step away from the descion making & hire  possibly a better GM to replace Dan Morgan moving forward ...just saying

Yeah I don’t mind supporting your #1 pick so they develop quickly but it’s nuts to have to keep making excuses for him. I don’t think he really even wants to be an NFL QB.

    • Accurate. No one wants a distraction from the backup QB position, real or perceived. Late stage Cam, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Kaepernick, Shedeur it's all the same reasoning. People just have to create alternate narratives. The reality is they weren't seen as starters and we're seen as guys who would bring more distraction than they were worth.
    • The real truth in this whole deal is…. You could not take Sanders unless you had absolutely nothing at QB on your roster. Media circus is too bad as a backup. Media could give too much attention and your starter would constantly be looking over his shoulder. Bryce would have pissed his pants on draft weekend if we made that move. Hindsight is if your QB is that fragile, he can’t be your QB anyway and now we have confirmed we have nothing at QB. Let’s give him a shot. Sometimes pressure makes diamonds, other times it makes Bryce’s.
    • No, this was not the reason. He didn't go where he was mock because one, he wasn't a first round talent no matter how much the media wanted him to be, and two, no one wants a sensationalized celebrity backup QB that brings unneeded media scrutiny to the team. It's the same reason why Cam wasn't a back up from 2022 to now.
