I think he could be a better HC than playcaller. Not sure why he abandoned putting the QB under center as much after the first drive - until he brought Dalton back under center at the end. FYI, those were the 2 TD drives. Bryce missed a couple of throws. But it wasn't as bad as I thought when I was watching live. He was successful for almost every playaction roll out from under center. And then we stopped doing it. The Patriots didn't stop it all game. They actually had a few "DJ Johnson-level" lose contain ends.

Yeah I think the issue is that Dave the play caller is likely a package deal with Dave the head coach.

this is the frustrating part about the Panthers.  All this stuff is day 1 stuff and he waste years figuring out the knowns. 

Well he knew when he accepted the job who his QB was so he can fug off with that excuse.

Although it is necessary to wonder just how far those conversations went in the hiring process. As in when they discussed the plans to "fix" Bryce Young how much leeway does Bryce Young ultimately have if he performs poorly and does Dave Canales have full autonomy to bench him when he feels it's time to make that call? Right now to me it looks like it's Tepper's decision. And if that is indeed the case we're boned no matter who the coach is.

He already bowed out after interviewing the year before. I think that was the year he skipped out on Washington after saying their new ownership group acting like they were running an NBA team. I think the Panthers leaked he had a bad interview or some BS.

it's not an excuse really.  It's just acknowledging realities.  And it really appeared Carolian acknowledged it and moved on from Bryce Young SUPER quick a mere 2 games into the Canales era. 

Morgan fugged up by not trading Bryce then.  They let him back on the field and they screwed themselves with this pointless year.  I blame Tepper/Morgan more than Canales. 

Canales is what he is.  We know what we were getting.  We knew his tree. He was also blunt about what he was.  From the jump, Bryce didn't fit.   Seemed like they acknowledged it last year and then went stupid.
