The complete lack of effective talent evaluation is the real disease.

I honestly think the huddle would run this organization better. We would draft better for sure. How is that possible when these guys devote their careers to it?

I am blown away at how bad we have been with the picks we've made. For all the hand wringing about "getting worked" in trade ups, etc. is small fries in comparison to the absolute trash picks we've made. Hit on even half of the picks and this team is 8-8 or better. Just like in most industries the "fun" parts of the job are always overrun with incompetents (due to favortism and politics) when you have a bad leader. Look at Dallas. Jerry wants so bad to be involved in talent acquisitions that the team eternally sucks. Same for us.

Baker and Darnold looked totally washed in this team and found success elsewhere.

Please stop saying this already.

We were competitive with Sam Darnold early on even with his blunders. Rewind to the game against the Vikings in BOA of 2021. That 41 yard pass he made under duress to Ian fuging Thomas which helped send us to overtime is infinitely more impressive than anything Bryce Young has done in 30+ starts.

1 - that's exactly why I said he's a complication... He is causing symptoms... He's not just a symptom.

2 - People keep saying this about Darnold and it isn't entirely accurate. He was pretty good here in the 2nd half of 2022... He washed out because he still isn't a franchises answer at QB, even after an incredible season in Minneapolis.  He's ultimately nobody's guy unless they can't do better... And this is coming from a bit fan of Darnold...

Yeah, the people simping over Darnold will see the truth, just like last year.

No it isn’t, I can’t even recall that pass with out having to look it up on YouTube. But ultimately the point is the overall organization , coaching and roster were the main reasons for his failure here. Did Darnold also make terrible decisions and throws? Yes

Baker was even worse and he had one of the strongest arms in the NFL. You want to blame Bryce for everything and ignore all the other terrible decisions

There are many unfortunate truths about this franchise. None of them change the fact that Bryce Young has basically no physical tools.

Brother you are being a simp. Nobody is blaming Bryce for literally everything. We're saying trying to build a successful NFL offense around his glaring deficiencies is not feasible and that was the catastrophic mistake we made in selecting him. It is what it is.

Here is the video.

Bryce Young doesn't make this throw. He wouldn't even be able to see the field let alone make use of a jag like Ian Thomas.

The problem started when we let Beane walk instead of promoting him

I like Beane don’t get me wrong but he 100% lucked into Allen. That is an absolute outlier of a pick that worked. Aside from that the Buffalo roster isn’t done complete elite roster. Allen kind of carries it IMO. Buffalo is being helped by having Allen and McD for stability most of all.

Exactly,  a kid from Albemarle basically washing jocks at BoA, to one of the "elite" GMs in the league, luck and timing was the factor.

Bryce  is not the answer at QB  but that doesn’t change the fact that you put any other QB on this team it will still suck, maybe a few more down field passes completed to tickle your fancy but inept nonetheless because of the nonexistent culture and identity in this club along with mostly terrible roster decisions .

Instead of admitting that you make excuses for Canales too for having Bryce as QB.  If Canales offense requires perfect execution at all times just to be competitive maybe it’s not a great offense after all.

yes people comparing young baker and darnold must not watch the games.  baker and darnold had the physical talent just not the mental decision making aspect of the game.  young is just physically limited no mater how much of the game mentally he learns he just cant physically do it
