Obviously he hasn’t turned the corner as we’ve thought. But you gotta be a fan and cheer the team on and be hopeful. You have become a grouch CRA. Spoiled by Cam, so I do understand.

I’m not a grouch.  Water is just wet.  And we get it thrown in our face every single Sunday.  So I say the simple and obvious.

I'm just going to enjoy the win this week.  It took a terrible start to lean on the run game, but boy did it pop once they did.  Dowdle has been a bright spot all year.  Defense played with some heart.  This team has been very emotionally fragile and it felt like some dudes got pissed today.  I'm taking the week off of shitting on the team.  I'm proud of the effort today, need more like this.

20th ranked passing D, 30th ranked rushing D... Both pretty bad

We're 10th and 23rd ranked for context, given how much people poo on our passing D lol.

you would have seen them playing both safeties in cover and not playing the run because we sucked at it most season. Canales called a good game. Bryce needs to protect the football but overall it was good to see it didn’t spiral like usual

He played bad in that first quarter, but you can't bench him after leading the team to a win after being 17-0 down.

I'm not crazy about Young, at least he didn't lose it for them. I will give him credit for that.

Posts like this is why this place sucks.

I’d argue it’s the people at BOA.  The ones who can’t figure out the obvious.

but I’m sure the Teppers would like your post over mine

If you come away from this game thinking you need to Bench Bryce you’re crazy. He’s wildly inconsistent, but was a contributor in the winning of this game.

This is what bothered me about the Delhomme and Cardiac Cats era. You get more credit for not committing turnovers vs working through your own mistakes. Young is holding the team back. Defense, ST, and the run game came to play today and we almost lost.

I thought I was the only one! Watching Delhomme flounder for 3 quarters then finally put it together in the 4th and get praised for it. Instead of just not being ass to get us in the hole to begin with.

Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.

    • Well it's not exactly new information that you don't have to draft a QB in the top 5 to compete for a championship. But the poorly run organizations end up with the first three picks. Most of the QB's drafted there never stand a chance. And then you have teams like the Panthers led by the Tepper's that would rather make a big splash to serve their own egos and get talked about in the media for several weeks by trading all the way up than actually being intelligent and strategic and staying put. Worst outcome in that is if you miss you can try again without mortaging your future. But there is another layer in all this. The league is changing again. Even a guy like Darnold with all his physical tools every box checked in that area did very little in the Super Bowl. Seattle had a stout roster all around. Same thing with the Eagles when they blew out the Chiefs. Yet here we are stuck with the tiniest QB in the league.
    • Which highly drafted QBs have actually experienced having a short leash? Most of these guys get multiple years of starting to show what they have.
    • I actually think Cam Newton is directly to blame for the crazy short leash these QBs are given now.  He was so good so early in his career that he reset the standard for young QB play.  Before he showed up it wasn't uncommon for the learning curve to be a full two or three seasons.  The high draft pick guys that had short careers prior to him typically had injuries or off field issues.
