Any well functioning team benches Bryce

Bryce needs a cheat code (Chuba, Rico) where he is always playing ahead of the down and distance. It’s the reason why his yardage is always so low.

Problem being is that he himself is not capable of playing in god mode, essential in a true franchise guy so high draft capital can be relegated towards the defense.

Eh... Bryce isn't elevating the team as we're hoping he would, but the team isn't exactly elevating themselves either.

If the decision has been made that it's time to move on from him, I personally think that the team would get the most value out of letting him play out his rookie deal, continue to build the team, and then clean house. The worst thing the team could do is spend another first round pick on a QB only for their coach to get fired soon after imo.

But we're also just barely a fourth of the way through the season. Still plenty of time for things to happen. Hell, at this point, the Panthers have a better record than the Ravens.

Pretty much this.  There's a lot of season to let play out.  Just have to keep riding things.  We're 2-3, gotta just continue to see how things evolve for the squad.  Promising rookies, a lot to see develop.

The frustrating part is I know Bryce can play. The last 4 games last year he looked great and seemed to be playing free.

But I turned the game off after that int yesterday. I don’t know wtf he was doing stepping up into his own blockers.

I think he gets hit with paralysis by analysis. Like trying to not make the mistakes so he’s not seeing the field, ends up making worse mistakes. Anyone who plays sports knows what it’s like to “aim instead of throw.” It’s the difference in college and pros and he might just never get over it.

I actually believe Bryce Young is mentally fragile.  That's a bigger problem than all his physical deficiencies for the position.

I’ll be strongly disagreeing that he play next year, unless he earns it. He has shown his pattern, 3rd year in a row.
Why would we trust that any dim flashes like a few completions are anything other than flashes at this point?

When you work at something on a high level, or aspire to, the biggest thing you have to establish is not your ceiling.
It is your floor. The challenge is to get your floor up to a level where even a bad day is still decent. Not horrible, just not up to your best. But not total poo either because you will not be kept around if you can’t maintain a certain standard.

It’s on you to make that happen.

my favorite take from the facebook bryce young diehards was a guy giving bryce credit for handing the ball off correctly to rico saying quote rico didnt take the snap from center....the qb play bar for the panthers is so low that some fans actually think bryce not fumbling the hand offs to rico is something he deservers credit for lol  they won but somehow there wins still feel like losses.

As someone who was at the game -

Bryce Young doesn't have the arm to make high-level throws.  He just doesn't.  It isn't worth having a discussion of if he will ever live up to what we gave up for him - he won't.  And any comparisons to Baker and Darnold are reaching; their issues were more mental than anything else.  They always had the physical talent.

There was a throw on 3rd down where Bryce rolled out and had a guy open on the sidelines, but he literally couldn't get the ball there.  It was jarring to see live.

I think Bryce will be a very good back-up in this league.  Not for us because we aren't good, but for a functional NFL franchise?  He's going to hang around this league for a long time, especially because by all accounts he's a good guy.  But he will never be a consistent top 15/20 QB.  He lacks the talent.

Story of the year. Get down massively to Arizona, look like your first NFL game to throwing for more than 300 yards and getting the team to within 40 yards of a come back win. Get down 17-0 to Miami, execute the offense to outscore the Dolphins 27-7 the rest of the way. Defeat the Falcons 30-0 throwing for like 150 yards.

Personally, I think it would be great to have retained Darnold. Darnold in this scheme with Canales would instantly make this team a contender for the NFC South. However that didn't happen.

I don't know what you do because when they run game gets shut down, and it will get shut down, you have to depend on Bryce to play efficiently. On one third down ball to someone (I forget who), when he was rolling out and made that throw close to the sideline to convert, the TV people would talking about how special that was.

What I saw was another receiver streaking all alone 45 yards downfield, with about 5 yards of separation. Even while rolling out, an average QB is able to deliver that ball, signed, and sealed for a touchdown. Bryce's lack of deep ball ability is the achilles heel to this offense and it's something that can't be fixed.

I would love to be able to draft Carson Beck. I think he took a lot of crap at UGA which now seems unwarranted. Looking at how inefficient their offense is now compared to how it was with Beck at QB, and now how he has gone into the system Cam Ward was in and outperformed him massively in just pure execution and efficiency, along with the physical traits, tells me he will be a Top 3 pick. We won't have a Top 3 pick though.

So what do we do? I have no idea. Canales is too good of an offensive coach for us to get a Top 3 pick and Bryce is inconsistent enough to get us a Top 10 pick. So absent finding a guy like Nix with tons of experience and good enough measurables, which requires great evaluations, I just think we are stuck.

As a Canes fan, we're very much missing Cam Ward.

If he was our QB this year I think we win the National Title. I'm nowhere near as bullish with Carson Beck under Centre.

Statistics, even when they can be molded, still are applied equally across all QBs. He was shown to stand out in that metric. The eye test also showed zero separation last year which would mean a lot of completions would come from a tight window.

I'm telling you that you shouldn't trust a gambling joint to apply statistical analyses consistently (and honestly) across the aboard.

Bryce won’t be a backup in the nfl

1. he’s too small. A backup needs to be able to run the same offense with the same personnel for the guy he’s backing up. His skill set is too limited. No one is going to create an entirely different set of plays for their backup qb

2. he’s an injury risk. He’s been shockingly durable since he was drafted, his fake ankle injury in his rookie year notwithstanding. But you’re not gonna sign a guy who looks like his mother is throwing him around the grocery store every time he gets hit.

3. he fumbles too much. Backup qb has to protect the ball and fumbles are worse than interceptions in today’s nfl

4. he wouldn’t accept it. Baby Bryce was leaking trade rumors to the press when he got benched last season. He won’t willingly go be a backup anywhere.

What drives me crazy about Bryce, is the stupid mistakes.  The first quarter,  not just him, but our entire team played like ass.  The 2 turnovers by Bryce hurts.  It was one of his interceptions in a game last month, that made me not give a damn about him anymore.

With that being said, he made some incredible throws yesterday,  that we dont win the game without.

If he doesn’t turn the ball over, he doesn’t need to make those throws.
