If we can beat the Jets this weekend I really think we can go 5-5 and get to 9-8. Not sure if that’s enough for the playoffs but it would be a good step forward.

Slow down kimosabe, one game at a time.

Three weeks ago everyone was trying to burn this place down.

I love seeing my football team win two games in a row but I’m pretty jaded from the Tepper era so I’m just expecting it to all fall apart each week. Much safer.

it’ll be exciting to see if Bryce can get the road monkey off his back and if the run game maintains it’s dominating pace aghast a team that isn’t poo at run D.

Preseason prediction was 6ish wins and this team really looks about like that.  The wins in that 6 were always called to be heavy in this stretch of the schedule.

we might beat the Jets.  But it’s hard to imagine us doing much down the stretch outside of splitting with the Saints and a random other game

Well, before the season I said something like we could win anywhere from four to 11 games depending how things fell. I also said that seven games was a hard target if I must give one. Three weeks ago, I'd have said we wouldn't win four games, but I still think we're on target to win seven, so I certainly don't think nine is out of the realm of reality. Honestly, it's going to come down to Bryce's development, and the coaches' willingness to adapt in and out of game.

I think the team around the QB is better than we thought, it's up to the QB to improve and step up. Watching the all-22, he still missed touchdowns yesterday that would have sastified the CRA-LG crowd. Jimmy Horn should have had a 80 yard TD but Bryce missed it and it was just a 25 yarder instead. Legette was wide open in the endzone several times (not counting the one where the rusher was in Bryce's face, he couldn't make that throw)

The Jets are 23rd in run Defense, giving up 130 yards per game.

I think that win vs Dallas gave them a big boost of confidence.

Thats a team that blew us out the past 2 seasons. Even when Bryce was playing okay late last season they still beat us pretty bad.

Lets see if we slaughter the Jets or go back to playing sloppy uninspired football and go from there.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
