I just seen the injury report- My brother from another Lewis is DNP...1412468341_Screenshot2025-10-164_35_06PM.thumb.png.dbf6316c5ffb79aa39eda7e5b598cbdb.png

Gods....They could be without 4 starters, Motown is LP. He was wearing a huge elbow piece before the injury.

They seem to already need Corbett......not to be a top backup but to start.....

I would say if they put Corbett back at center, that would be evidence of some kind of favoritism thing going on.  I would have to ask if our coaches are leaders of men.  So they bet not do some stupid stuff like that.  It would be one thing if Corbett had pedigree at the position, a probowler.  This dude has never been a good center in the slightest, and only looked decent at the guard position in the past. (Which I don't believe he ever had a fully healthy season as a Panther)

So this shouldn't even be a discussion if you're the coaches.  But again, Corbett never should have been the starter in the first place.  I know we're armchair coaching when it comes to these things, but before the season, I was rooting for Mays to win the position.  The guy played a key role in Bryce's surgence last year.  Why mess up that combination?  And they did mess up the combination by making Corbett the starter.  It could be we might of won against the Jags had Mays been the starter. (Yes, I believe it was that critical)  We know Mays went in late against the Cards, where Bryce began looking better at the end. (Though the Cards played soft coverage)  So all these things says Cade Mays is the better center for the team.  Yet certainly he is the better center for Bryce if nothing else.

sure, if Moton is out, BC is a decent tackle, way better than Nijman.  Corbett is an alright guard, but he has no business playing center and it showed.

I know it was the Cowboys, but Nijman looked good at RT against the Cowboys IMO (no idea what his made-up PFF score is). Not sure if he is just quicker moving to his right or stronger blocking to the right, but it was a night and day difference from his JAX LT game.

Keep Corbett as a backup and put him in if there is an injury to Mays, Lewis, or BC. No way you can change the oline with how great they looked against the Cowboys (unless Moton is healthy enough to play).

Jax has a platoon of very capable pass rushers and Dallas does not. I think that played the biggest role in that difference you saw in Niman. Make no mistake, he will get carved up by top end pass rushers. But, someone has to start so give him some help the best way you can and roll on.

    • Give me Anthony Hill Jr or give me death
    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
